A Tenth is what I shall give

Good Evening All,

Genesis 28:20-22 (King James Version)

20And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,

21So that I come again to my father’s house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God:

22And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.Have you thought, how are we going to give God a tenth of all that we have? There has been plenty of times that has come up in my life. When Tara was commuting so far from the house it took more money to pay for the gas. When the medical insurance increased about $150.00 more a month and when the gas rates went through the roof. These are things that attack a person’s mind and pocket-book.

When the storm of life started to hit our financial boat we decided that we would not walk in fear. The first thing we did was make sure that we paid our tithes, gave offerings, paid our bills and then if we had any money left over, we would eat. Yes, there were times that all we could eat was bread and ham loaf. There were times that all we ate was toasty oats and water, but we knew God would honor our tithes and offerings. So we batted down the hatches and we prayed and sought God on what we should do. God gave us the answer and we began to do the things we heard. God told us to speak to our mountain and cast it down. He told us to call the things that be not as though they were. God reminded us that He would supply all our needs. Wouldn’t you know it, we received money in the mail so we could get some new clothes, money for food and it was not just a little, but it came with extra. The first thing we did was to write out a check to pay our tithes and we blessed God. The rest of the money took care of the food and then we took the extra and placed it in our savings account.

When you bless God and give back to Him a tenth, God will always make sure that you are blessed. No matter what type of storm you might go through, God will always pull you through. Don’t huddle down at the bottom of your ship! Go outside and speak to your storm. Make a faith move and stand. Don’t walk away or the enemy will always win. If you say I tried that giving God a tenth stuff, but I did not get anything back. My question to you is, did you speak to the mountain or did you try to go around it again. God will bless your finances when you trust Him with just a tenth.

Try God today with your finances and start speaking a blessing over your tithes. God will increase! Jacob said to God ” of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee. Remember God what He did for you. God said He has given you all power to get wealth. It’s not by your power, but by the Lord God Almighty!

 Be Blessed!
