“Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.”- Joel 2:23

Rejoice in the Lord who is your God. How has God blessed you? Can you remember? Too many times we dwell on the old blessings as if God has not blessed us everyday. As I read this scripture I am reminded that I need to live in the now and praise Him in the now. God deserves to hear the praises of His people. I asked the question “How has God blessed you” for a reason… We don’t think about breathing as a blessing and many people can’t breath properly or they’re on breathing tubes or machines. We take our blessing of being alive as just another day but I recommend that you don’t take it for grant it. When you rise out of your bed, rejoice in the Lord, because that is what He created you for. Blessings are not for the past, they are for the here and now! Rejoice in the Lord for the sleep you did get even if it were for 4 hours. Rejoice for the house that covered you while you slept. Rejoice because you have another day to bless others.

We live too much for ourselves when in reality we are supposed to be living to be a blessing to others. Think about rejoicing in the Lord always. It’s very easy to complain and be negative… BUT what will that get you? I don’t know what you are going through and I don’t know your current circumstances… this one thing I do know is… if you will rejoice in the Lord your breakthrough will happen immediately.

James 1:1-2

2My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

3Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

Let your mouth rejoice instead of complaining. Stop and think… What have I been blessed with and what has God blessed me with today? When you think about what God has brought you through you will begin to rejoice. Rejoice for the Lord is alive and well and very real! Rejoice because you are alive in Christ! Rejoice for He has called you a Blessed and Highly Favored man or woman of God! Rejoice Church, Rejoice in the Lord your God!

Many Blessings,

Pastor Philip Roman
