Fellowship, Communion… When are we going to eat?

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.”- 2 Corinthians 13:14

God wants to communicate with us always. The problem is that we feel like we can’t communicate with someone we don’t see. But is that true? Can’t we see God? After all Jacob did see God and wrestled with Him and Moses was face to face with God on the mount. When we come together with the Lord to talk, the Holy Spirit is there always. He only can speak what God has spoken. The Holy Spirit does not communicate of Himself. We know this is true because Jesus said so in the book of John.

John 16:13

13Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Jesus did not even do miracles of Himself. Jesus said I do not these things of Myself, but, what I do I see the Father do.

John 5:19

19Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

God wants our fellowship. We need to open up to Him and spend time with Him. I have heard time after time that people say they are lonely. Can this be true? I believe that we can FEEL lonely but it is not the truth. Why? Because FEELINGS are fickle. If this were the truth, then God would be a liar. We know God can not lie. For us to say that we are lonely is not the truth because God is with us always. He is but a breath away. We just need to say I need you and He will be there. God is better than E.F. Hutton… He always listens and will never let you down. We just need to listen! God longs for fellowship and communion. We just need to lean on Him and not on ourselves or on others. When we lean on God and come into fellowship with Him we will never FEEL lonely. Jesus went to the mountain to pray and He was not lonely because God who is His Father, and this same Father is our Father, was there to speak with Him and comfort Him. In the midst of FEELING lonely try reaching out to God instead of picking up a phone. Instead of reaching out to go and hang out with others go and hang out with God. God is omnipresent! So if you FEEL hungry then I suggest to you that you reach out to God. If you sense that you have become hungry but nothing seems to satisfy, open up your Bible and begin to read. You will be filled up! Seek God first and not others to satisfy your loneliness. He is better than a Snickers candy bar! He is the only one who can satisfy!

Blessed By The Best!
