Matthew 5:11-12 (The Message)

11-12“Not only that—count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit me. What it means is that the truth is too close for comfort and they are uncomfortable. You can be glad when that happens—give a cheer, even!—for though they don’t like it, I do! And all heaven applauds. And know that you are in good company. My prophets and witnesses have always gotten into this kind of trouble.

So people put you down because you are a Christian or because you don’t party the way they do. Who Cares! If we walk around all the time being concerned about what others think then we will find ourselves depressed, angered and sad all the time. Who cares what others think when they see you. Let me ask you a question. Are you being a Christian for your own glory or is it for God’s Glory? Are you working for yourself or for God? Are you speaking about Christ to get mans glory? Are you doing this to become famous? So what if the people lie about you or say things about you that are not true? They did the same thing to Jesus. As a matter of fact the world today is doing just this. They are running away from the truth and they are afraid of the truth. The best way the world can try to get you off your convictions is to trash your reputation. Why? Because if they can get you thinking about yourself and what others think and say about you, then you will be caught up thinking about these things instead of meditating on God and His Word.

The devil wants to get you off track everyday. If he can sting you with a bad comment, or get you to come off your Word, then he will snatch you right up. If you recognize that the devil is at work, then you can say No and rebuke him and his tactics. The enemy will use other Christians to speak about you and to discredit you. Who cares! The devil is your adversary not other Christians or people. If you are working for the Lord then you will be fighting this foe. Here is something you need to look at… Jesus already beat the devil so all you have to do is to remind the devil that, Jesus has won the battle and He has the victory and He has given me the victory no matter what people say about me.

Start praising the Lord and counting yourself as blessed to be put down because you are Christian. Count yourself as blessed to be discredited for the Gospels sake. The best way to stop the nay sayers and the problems is to praise the Lord. Praise is the cure-all! If you are ready to stop the devil and the words of the enemy against you and your family, then you need to start praising Him. Remember this scripture is written in red. Red words win all the time. Red words in the Bible are words from Jesus. Be excited to be counted as worthy to be persecuted. Take the bad of it and look at the good in it. You are sharing the Word of God in spite of what people think or say.

Be Blessed! Praise Him!
