2 Chronicles 7:14

14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves #1, and pray #2, and seek my face #3, and turn from their wicked ways #4; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

A lot of us have heard this scripture from our Pastors, friends, and family members. Lately it seems as if everyone in Houston is quoting this scripture. It’s very exciting to hear people quote scripture but it is awesome when they are following it to the letter. In this 4 part series on this scripture we will look at the (if) and the conditions that come with it.

God is speaking to Solomon at this time. But we see here that this scripture can also be applied to us and the USA. God has been speaking to His church for many, many years. God has been calling us back to him. We know this because we can see this in Revelation 3:20 20Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. God wants His Church to grow up and put down the immorality. We are seeing immorality in more Christians than we did 20 years ago. Our television sets are polluted with all kinds of junk and we are seeing more people busy today than we did 20 years ago. Church has been put on the back burner and families are not instilling church and it’s value. Years ago the church was the major influence in society and even in the Politics. Now we have stated God should not be in Politics! What a line of BOLOGNA!

More families are leaving the church to stay home and have family time. Back when I was a child, church was a place for families to get together and hang out. Our family time was at the church and we were at a safe place. We are in a day and an hour that the church needs to rise up and stop saying (if). God is the one who gave us the (if), the condition of going the right direction. God has given us the choice! What are we doing here? When are we going to wake up? How much longer will the church wait? Who will stand up and say it starts with me?

Now the church is started at 10:00 and over by 11:15 and we wonder if God even showed up. Over the last 20 years we have seen a decline in Christians and we have seen a decline in Christian morals. We have seen the Pastors leaving the pulpit and we are seeing Christians walking away from their faith. What is going on? As a Pastor I am concerned! I am watching churches around the world taking God and putting Him into their box. I am watching and hearing people make comments about how their church is better than another persons church, because they get out at a shorter time. I hear about how this worship team is better than another worship team. I am listening to Pastors speak about giving up and throwing in the towel. I am hearing about how the church has become more of a business rather than a House Of Worship. Church and God has not become the cornerstone, rather it’s become a paper weight. Something of no value.

While I am about to say some things right now, I am not picking on Pastors or you the people, but provoking them to evaluate themselves and for the people to evaluate themselves. The Church in America is under great attack and we must be provoked to do something about it.

When will the Pastors stand up? When will the people rise up with their Pastors? When will the Pastors stop taking the advice of the people and start asking God first? When will the people start studying their Bible and praying? When will the Pastors start asking God what they are to speak from the pulpit? When will Pastors stop being afraid to speak the Word of God? When will Pastors stop being worried about people leaving because of certain sermons that God wants them to speak. When will God’s people humble themselves? The word (if) is a conditional clause. If God’s people will humble themselves and do what He wants, then He will hear from heaven. This sounds good but there is 3 more conditional clauses. We have 4 parts to this scripture and all of them must be met for the Lord to lean down His ear to hear and heal the land. God loves His people, but, He does want our undivided attention. He does hear us from heaven and He does answer prayer but our land is still suffering. We as The Church have become apathetic and lethargic. We really need God right now! God wants us right now! We just need to stop acting like old Israel and start worshiping the true King of Kings and the true Lord of Lords. We need to evaluate ourselves and put away all wickedness. Start today by reading more of the Bible and praying and get yourself into a church that speaks the Word of God. Go to a place where the church is not a big program. Go where the Holy Spirit is allowed to move amongst the people. God is waiting for us! Will you humble yourselves and open the door to the Lord? He is ready to give His people a mighty revival! How many are ready for revival?

Be Blessed!
