2 Chronicles 7:14 (King James Version)

14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves #1, and pray #2, and seek my face #3, and turn from their wicked ways #4; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Over the last couple of days we have discussed 4 conditional clauses. So let’s end this series with looking at all 4 conditional clauses. I would like us to see the blessing of the Lord when we follow God’s Word.

So what people is God talking about? Who are these people? Who is called by His name? God is talking to Israel in the Old Testament but we can identify with these people. Just because the Old Testament is old and it was considered law, it still applies to you and I. This is history and what can we learn from history. Usually history repeats itself over and over again. Just because we have different clothes, styles of hair, different means of transportation… etc. This does not mean that we don’t read the Old Testament. The Old Testament shows us what Israel was doing and how they behaved. How is the Church behaving today? We can see here in the scripture that the Church and the USA is being rebellious and that the USA has been acting like Old Testament Sodom and Gomorrah. This is not just about the USA, but it is about the Church. The Church has not been humble, praying, seeking God’s face, and turning from their wicked ways.

We as God’s people have played church. We have dumbed down the preaching and made the worship service like a concert. We have not prayed for the church and the USA. We have stated that sin is just something that happens and we have watched wickedness increase in our land. We have not sought the face of God but rather the hands of God. Pastors have looked to man and made the church a business rather than a place of Worship. People have comforted themselves on Sunday rituals and middle of the week services are smaller today than ever. Why? Because God’s people have not been through enough pain and suffering. In the book of Judges the people would serve God when there was a judge in the land. As soon as that judge would die the people would revert back to their old lifestyles. We can’t be like this! People I am not ragging on you and trying to be mean. I am speaking the truth and when truth is brought forth it hurts. When will the Church rise up and take its place.

We can have great sermons, awesome worship, pre-service prayer and still get nowhere if we don’t follow God’s 4 conditional clauses. God wants His Church to humble themselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways! God is waiting on us! Will you rise up and start following the above scripture? Will you say this starts with you? How many of you are willing to turn over a new leaf? How many of you will begin to make a difference? How can you make a difference?

We can make a difference by showing up to church and the prayer events. We can make a difference by humbling ourselves, praying in our homes and churches, praying with others, seeking God’s face everyday, and doing a 180 degree turn away from all wickedness. We must strive daily to abstain from the appearance of evil. The Pastors today want people who want to help and participate. I know as a Pastor I would like to see the same people who come to a Sunday service, come to all prayer gatherings and Wednesday night services. I would like to see more participation. As a Senior Pastor I am interested in people growing spiritually. We can’t continue to be weak Christians. We need to be strong and courageous! Joshua 6:1 6Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

God is looking for some Abrahamic people.

Genesis 18:20-32 (King James Version)

20And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;21I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.22And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.23And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?24Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?25That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?26And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.27And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the LORD, which am but dust and ashes:28Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it.29And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty’s sake.30And he said unto him, Oh let not the LORD be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there.31And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the LORD: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty’s sake.32And he said, Oh let not the LORD be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake.

How many of you will be like Abraham and cry out for Sodom and Gomorrah? How many people will cry out for the Church and the USA. Like the Marines saying ” We will be first on the scene, first to help and first to fight. For this, we have earned the reputation as “America’s 911 Force” — our nation’s first line of defense. ” How many of you will be first to fight for the Church and USA. We don’t need you to fight a physical fight but a Spiritual fight.

I am taking this saying and changing it for a Christian: We will be first on scene to pray and deliver, we will be first to fight the good fight of faith. For this we have earned the reputation as God’s mighty men and women of valour. We, God’s people are the Churches and America’s 911 Force. We are our nations first and last defense against an invisible enemy. We will make a difference! We are Christians and we are ready to help deliver the Church and America.

Be Blessed,

Pastor Philip Roman
