Trusting Him

Psalm 36:5-10

(Amplified) AMP

5Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, extend to the skies, and Your faithfulness to the clouds. 6Your righteousness is like the mountains of God, Your judgments are like the great deep. O Lord, You preserve man and beast.7How precious is Your steadfast love, O God! The children of men take refuge and put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.8They relish and feast on the abundance of Your house; and You cause them to drink of the stream of Your pleasures.9For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light.(B)10O continue Your loving-kindness to those who know You, Your righteousness (salvation) to the upright in heart.

God’s loving-kindness does not ever change and His faithfulness is proof that His loving-kindness does not change. People have let us down. Parents, friends, pastors, and even our other family members have caused us to not trust them completely. This also rolls right into our relationship with God. Unfortunately we don’t always trust God to do what His Word says He will do. Unfortunately we believe in God like we believe in man… WE DON’T BELIEVE.

David wrote this Psalm and as you look further at this Psalm David is making statements of God’s faithfulness and His ability to take care of all David’s needs. David is actually testifying of God’s greatness.

When you were up against some problems and you could not do anything what were the words that came out of your mouth? What did you profess? Who or what did you exalt? Who did you rely on? Where did you turn to? What was your first reaction to the problem?

Problems are going to come. Fighting will occur. Pressure will come to set in. The enemy will come to try and take you captive with terrible thoughts. BUT, this time you will prevail against any onslaught of the enemy. Why because you will be looking to the Lord as your defense and strong tower. This time you will praise Him. This time you will put all your trust in the Lord. Why? Because God is not a man that He should lie. God will pull you through! Trust in, rely on, look to the Author and Finisher of your faith. Testify of His goodness and His mercy. Exalt Him and lift Him up. Let the world see that God is not dead but He is alive. Let your friends and family know that you are safe because you are under the shadow of the Almighty. You are trusting Him to pull you through. You are leaning on God’s everlasting arms.

This is your time! This is your greatest hour! Let God’s people rejoice and let the earth, hell and the heavens know that today you are putting your trust in the Lord God, the maker of the heavens and earth. Be Blessed!
