Matthew 25:6-10

King James Version (KJV)

6And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.7Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.8And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.9But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.10And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

Are you ready? Is your wick trimmed and is your oil filled up. God is wanting us to be ready. Ready for the coming of the Lord. He wants us ready all the time. We need to have things in order and we need to patiently endure.

This parable has more meaning then just waiting for the Lord. I can see that the body of Christ should be like the five virgins that were ready. These five virgins were prepared. They weren’t out there playing around all the time. They were expectant. When you become expectant you prepare everything. We are to be ready to go and do anything. The way we get ready is to read our Bibles, pray and fast.

Reading your Bible will give you hope. Praying will help you stay expectant and strong. Fasting will help you to hear the deeper the things of God. These three things will be just like preparing a lamp and trimming your wick. The reason why you trim the wick is to keep the fire burning. If the wick is too high then the oil will burn to quickly. If the wick to too short then it will not stay lit. Proper preparation is needed. Just like waiting for the Lord to come and waiting for the things of God, we need to have proper preparation. Preparation will bring expectation. Expectation will bring manifestation. Manifestation will cause others to see and hear and to tell of God’s wonders. Be Blessed!
