John 13:34-35

King James Version (KJV)

34A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

This scripture is Jesus’ words. Anytime you find Red words in your bible it is Jesus speaking. Jesus is showing us how to win every time. I don’t know about you but when I am doing something, I want to be right every time. Red words win all the time. This is a very true and valid statement. Every thing that Jesus did on this earth brought forth a winning attitude. There was never a moment that Jesus did not win. Even while on the cross Jesus won… How? When He said Father forgive them for they know not what they do. He was covering all the people with forgiveness even though they did not deserve it. Jesus also won while on the cross because He made sure to say that His appointment for death was finished so that you and I could have life. Jesus said “It Is Finished!.” Marking that day forever. Jesus made a lasting imprint that will never be forgotten.

This commandment that Jesus has given us is a lasting imprint for all. We are required to love one another. This is not just a statement or I hope you will do this. This is a commandment from our General. We are required to love one another the same way that Jesus loved us. How do I love someone I can’t stand to be around? First, you ask God to forgive you for your attitude towards this person. Second, if they have hurt you, then you say Father, forgive them for they know not what they do. Third, you open your arms to them and receive them in, just like Jesus did with you. After all you were not perfect either and Jesus received you in. Everyone that you love, in spite of how they treated you, will know that you are different. The reason why you are different is that you are a true disciple of Jesus. People will see the difference and more than likely they will ask you the big question… Why are you so different then the other so called Christians? Your response should be… Because I am a True Disciple of Jesus the One True Love. I love because He first loved me. This will lead to an open door to share Jesus and to make Him known.

Be Blessed!
