Acts 2:40

King James Version (KJV)

40And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

In this scripture I made these last six words bold for a reason. You can save yourself from this untoward generation! Your probably wondering what untoward means. In the literal Greek it means curved, crooked, perverse, wicked, unfair, surly and froward. It’s deeper definition means leg, from the hip to the toes. Vines expository says it means to break legs. Powerful, when you think about breaking legs. Why? Because when you break the legs of someone you keep them from being stable. You keep them from walking and running. Now, I am speaking to you as spiritual. When you break the legs of the soulish man and fleshy man, you are breaking his legs from running to the worldly things. You are setting him free from what he is connected to. I am not talking about breaking some persons physical legs but the carnality of his soul and flesh.

As a minister of the Gospel, I have the undaunted call of sharing Jesus and the Word of God with all people. I have the call of sharing what the world looks like according to the Word of God. I have the call to tell people to turn the other way. I have to preach the infallible Word of God. As I preach it will break the soulish and fleshy mans legs of this world. I have to preach deliverance from this curved generation. I have to preach the breaking down of strongholds (Worldly Ways and Ideas). I want people to get saved. Just like God, I do not desire anyone to go to hell.

The Apostles in the book of Acts were really strong speakers. They were unlearned in mans ideology. They did not attend their schools or their belief seminars. They preached Jesus, performed miracles by the hand of God, and signs and wonders followed them. As they preached, they broke the soulish and fleshy mans legs. They helped people disconnect themselves from the curved, crooked, perverse, wicked, unfair, surly, and froward generation. Their minds were renewed. The people in the book of Acts received because of the openness of their heart. They received because of the conviction of the Holy Spirit. They received because real power and authority was present when the Apostles spoke to the people. Why? Because the Apostles could do nothing of themselves but only by what they heard and saw Jesus do. The Apostles broke the World’s legs and put the people in the right place.

Kenneth Copeland and Jesse Duplantis said it best when they used the term “Genetically Altered Religion.” These men of God were talking about getting off the worlds system (Babylon). They were saying the Christian has no right to be on this system in acting or thinking. I definitely agree with them! Genetically altered religion will give you a curved and perverted answer.

That was the untoward generations way of acting like a believer. They thought and acted like the world in a church setting. Peoples thoughts and ideas are curved and perverted. They trust mostly in material goods and what they can see and touch.  Some people in the church today act like believers but in reality they are just full of the traditions of man (Genetically Altered Religion). Their way of doing things! People it’s time to do things right!

First, you need to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, daily (Romans 12:1). Second, you must renew your mind, daily (Romans 12:2). Third, you need to put on your armor, daily (Ephesians 6:13-17). Fourth, you need to pray, daily (Ephesians 6:18). Fifth you need praise Him, daily (Psalm 135:1-3). Sixth, you need to get yourself into unity with other Christians, daily (Psalms 133:1-3) Start with these daily things and then you will not get caught up being twisted, curved or perverted in your generation. Be the generation that is outside the box. Be like the Apostles… Undaunted to speak the Word of God before all men.
