3 John 1:11

King James Version (KJV)

11Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.

Who are you following? This scripture tells us who we follow when we do good. Good works will not get you into heaven but God requires us to do good works and follow after them. This second part of the scripture speaks great volumes to me. If you do evil then you have not seen God. Why is this important? Because if you really want to have fellowship with the Lord you will not be able to do evil. It’s impossible to do evil and see God. To do evil is to fellowship with the devil. To do evil is to follow after evil.

In scripture we find that evil companionship will corrupt good manners, morals and character. 1 Corinthians 15:33 AMPDo not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt and deprave good manners and morals and character. This scripture says it all! Do not be so deceived or misled. The Pastor Philip version of this first part of the verse would read this way… Don’t be gullible and stupid. If you do, people are going to lead you and change you into what they want. People don’t care about you they just want you to follow them. Followers of corruption will cause you to be corrupted. Followers of the Christ will lead you to everlasting life.

I pick followers of Christ. If you follow Christ you won’t be sorry. If you don’t you will feel sorry and look sorry all the time!

There are many good bloggers on wordpress.com and some people are following others. This is great and I encourage you to follow the bloggers that produce good spiritual fruit. Follow those that challenge your walk with Christ and follow the ones that think outside of religiosity. One way you can tell about a good Christian blogger is that they are wanting to encourage you through the Word of God and not just out of themselves. One of my favorite bloggers is Paul B Thomas from Image Breakers. I recommend you to check out his site and check out some of the others that follow me. While I don’t have a lot of followers right now, I know that I will receive more.

God told me to blog and get these messages out there. Why? So I can lead people to God’s Word and also lead others to Christ. This is a great way to evangelize and to build relationships around the world. Do something different today! Start a blog and encourage others. Before long people will follow you and you will have the privilege to lead others to Christ.
