Ephesians 4:7

Amplified Bible (AMP)

Yet grace (God’s unmerited favor) was given to each of us individually [not indiscriminately, but in different ways] in proportion to the measure of Christ’s [rich and bounteous] gift.

Jesus’ grace was unmeasurable. Jesus had power without measure. This grace given to you and I is without measure. Grace is of the merciful kindness by which God, exerting his holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise of the Christian virtues. (BLB) Blue Letter Bible.

Because this grace is unmeasurable it means that it is extended to anyone. It is not restrictive. God’s grace for you came from His love for you. If God did not love you it would be impossible to give you unmeasurable grace. If God didn’t love you there would be no way for you to be saved. God loves you so much that He sent Jesus as the saving grace. The measure of Christ’s gift was His death on the cross. It was the greatest sacrifice. It was unmeasurable because it was meant for all humans. However we can’t use this grace to sin willfully. Grace is the gift of bountifulness, acceptance, unmerited favor, liberality, blessings bestowed upon. You can’t earn grace. Grace can not be worked for. Grace is an extension of God’s love for you and for the world. That is why accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is your choice. Grace is given and it causes favor upon your life. Favor is opening of doors that man can not open and man can not close.

Jesus had favor everywhere He went. I literally started to tell everyone that I have favor. I announce the favor of God on my life. I proclaim God’s grace is sufficient for me and my family. I rejoice over the fact that I am blessed and highly favored. What this does for me is, it reminds me of who I am and whose I am. I am God’s child. I am a son of God. You’re a child of God! That means you are a carrier of grace, the unmerited favor. Because of this grace in your life you are also to extend this to everyone else. Regardless of what someone has said to you or done to you, you must extend grace. After all God extends grace to you when you act crazy or stupid. I am not calling anyone stupid but you can act that way.

Grace is given through the love of God. That is how grace operates. So should you extend grace to someone? Be sweet like Jesus and extend grace. Grace is what will win someone to the Lord. Favor is a by-product of grace. It opens doors, it brings blessings, it sets people free and it loves unconditionally. The grace factor is God’s heart for dying man.

1 Corinthians 12:5-6

King James Version (KJV)

And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

God’s plan and desire is for all of us to work together. Those who are denominational and non-denominational. God did not design denominations. I know this is going to make someone offended. I will not apologize for one reason. You do not see denominations in the Word of God. Man’s way to keep order and design. The problem with this is that God’s Word does not need man to create order and design. God’s Word has order and design!

The biggest problems with denominations is that it causes separation. Denominations are what keep Christians apart from one another. Some may talk in other tongues and some may worship without instruments… Who cares! Jesus is not coming back for a denomination. He is coming back for His Church. If you have received Jesus then you are part of the Church. You’re part of a family.

I have preached in all types of denominational churches yet there is definitely one thing we all have in common. Jesus!  If we all started to work together how powerful would the Church be? If we were to all get along despite the denominational lines we could see a greater revival. We would see the USA changed. We would see our churches full every mid-week service and every Sunday service. There are differences in administrations but the Lord is the same. We can also have diverse operations but there is only one God who works in us all.

Look to fellowship with people outside of your denomination and expect to be encouraged and challenged. Expect to work together and see your community changed. If the denominations would work together instead of fighting we could make a change in our government, schools, communities and churches. If our church people would see us working with other denominations then they would happily work with us. As the king is so will the kingdom be. Let’s be kingdom minded and seek people like God sought you and I. Be different from the world. The world knows how to separate but the Church should know how to be united.

Colossians 4:5-6

King James Version (KJV)

Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

The world is looking for a Savior. They may not say that to you and I, but, they are looking! So who will you represent? What wisdom will you speak from… The worldly kind or the Heavenly kind? This is a choice and it’s not hard. You should choose to be a representative of Jesus. Your wisdom should not come from this world or man, but from God. How can someone see Christ in you? When you walk in wisdom towards the ones who do not represent Christ. These kind of people will cause the unsaved to call out for the Savior. The best way to show Jesus is to walk in the wisdom that He has given you. Speak what He says. Do what He does. Follow the Word of God and listen to the Holy Spirit.

When I think about the above scripture I think of a tough piece of meat. I think of it being raw, tough and undesirable. However, if you season that raw, tough meat you can tenderize it and cause it to be one of the tastiest meats ever. Before I recommitted my life back to the Lord I was raw, tough and undesirable. There was a woman who spoke a seasoned word to me that was from God. She spoke with wisdom and understanding. Her wisdom was not of this world but from Heaven. It caused me to return to the Lord. Her words hit me to the heart. She did not tell me that I was going to Hell. She told me how much Jesus loved me. She told me that God still had a call on my life. She told me that all I had to do was call on the name of Jesus and He would save me. She told me that no matter how far I run, God will always be there. Now this wisdom may not sound grand but it was salty and it got down on the inside of me. That night I turned to the Lord and He received me. He began a great work and He still is working on me and in me everyday.

God wants seasoned salty Christians. He is not looking for traditionalist or religious people. He is not looking for someone to scream on the corner and tell everyone that they are going to Hell. He is looking for someone who will take the wisdom from above and apply it. He is looking for the ones who will model Jesus in the world. The ones that have seasoned wisdom from above, that can change the heart of an Atheist, Buddhist, Jew, a Running Backslider, Muslim and a person with a hardened heart.(This is not an all-inclusive list)  The best way to get wisdom is to ask.  James 3:17  But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Be Salty today and share the love of Jesus. Being properly seasoned is the factor when you share Jesus. The only way to get seasoned is to get into the Word of God daily. Go for it, you can do it, and it will cause the blessing to take place.

1 Corinthians 13:5

Amplified Bible (AMP)

5It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].

Love does not think about the wrongs that others have done to them… They let it go! Because love does not seek it own rights, it never pays attention to the suffered wrong. Love lays down its own rights. Why? Because love is not arrogant or inflated with pride. Pride will cause a man to fall.

Many people have been hurt by others. Most of the time this will leave a bad scar on someone’s heart. It can cause a division to take place. No one wants to be in division but it happens because of scarring.

Don’t let the scars hold you back from properly loving people. Don’t let the scars keep you from showing your heart to others. Don’t let the scars dictate who you will love. Why? Because God is not a respecter of persons and neither should you be. Love pays no attention to the wrong. That does not mean you have to get ran over by people. It means when someone hurts you unintentionally or intentionally you will not focus on them and how they hurt you. You will focus on Love who will always pick you up.

As I have studied love I still find myself missing the mark. I still find myself looking at my scars and not wanting to participate with others. Scars are a reminder of old pain. However scars can be a good reminder of how you persevered through pain. Scars show where you were and give you a chance to move ahead. If your scarred and still thinking about your past hurts it time to get over it. It time to Let It Go! If you don’t let it go then you will never be able to properly move ahead. Remember love always forgives and forgets. Love always gives. Love is never touchy, fretful, or resentful. Love never pays back evil for evil. Let it go and then you will be able to grow and go!

2 Timothy 2:24

King James Version (KJV)

24And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,

Gentle is defined as  mild in temperament or behavior; kind or tender. Are you kind and tender? Are you mild in temperament? I ask these questions because behind closed doors people are not always as they seem. The Bible makes it very clear that a servant of the Lord must not strive. Strive is defined as those who engage in a war of words, to quarrel, wrangle, dispute. As I observe people on the streets, grocery stores and malls, I see people who are constantly striving. They are so full of strife, because something was not the way they expected it to be. This is just like the church today. These same people who are in the streets, grocery stores and malls are the ones who are sitting in the church pews acting like nothing is wrong. I am talking about you. The one who might be reading this now. The one who is probably offended.

How do I know this? I used to be one. I used to be the one who consistently quarreled with my wife and children and then I would come to church and act like nothing was wrong. I used to be the one who was in great strife. My wife and I used to have some serious arguments right before service and I used to tell her I was not going to church. I used to drive all the way to church only to turn right back around and go home. I liked church and the people but my wife and I just didn’t get along. We constantly were nagging one another. We were as the book of James would say, “double-minded.” One moment I would say I love you and you mean the world to me and in a matter of two minutes I would be yelling at her.

At the time I didn’t know how to love my wife properly and I most certainly did not know how to love God. Why? Because I was not gentle, kind or patient. The weird thing is, I am very tender-hearted, but not to the ones I love. I am patient with others but not with the ones I love. I am kind to others but not with the ones I love. When you are in strife you are not teachable, patient, kind or gentle. The words that come out of your mouth are stronger than your actions. Words need to be gentle in use. You can still be upset and be gentle. As a matter of fact the bible says be angry and sin not. Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

Like I said, I used to be that way. I am gentle today and I am patient, teachable and loving. My wife, children and I have more peace than we have ever had. Yes, sometimes the old man tries to creep back up, but I put him down. I was never a striker or one who would lay my hands on someone, but, I was mean with my mouth. You can be gentle when it comes to laying hands on someone but you can be a murderer when you open your mouth. Do an examination today and see if you are being gentle. As matter of fact, ask your husband or wife if they think your gentle. Ask them to be honest and choose not to get mad if they say your mean, demeaning, sarcastic…ETC. If you are truly a servant of the Lord then you need to make sure that you’re not in strife and that you will be gentle, apt to teach, patient, kind and LOVING! True servants of the Lord will always lay down their life for others.

Acts 27:22-25;30-31

King James Version (KJV)

22And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship. 23For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, 24Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. 25Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. 30And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship, 31Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.

Such confidence did Paul have in the midst of potential death. Wow! How many of you have confidence in the Word of the Lord? Do you trust God completely with your life? Do you believe what He said He would do? God wants to work things through you and get all the Glory. He is looking for someone with Such Great Confidence! God, when He speaks, He speaks as someone who is all-knowing. The problem we have as Christians is believing everything He says!

Imagine this… Everyone on that ship had to listen to a prisoner to be saved. Everyone on that ship had to believe what Paul stated in order to live. He said I have heard from the Angel of the Lord of whose I am. Meaning there was God’s angel, God’s messenger. A protector to Paul. God told Paul that he was going to go to Rome. Do you think God just wants to change His mind? Some people believe God says He is going to give them something and then change His mind. When God speaks you need to get confidence in knowing that He will fulfill whatever He has said to you. God is not going to change His mind to work against you. Remember God is for you! Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He wants the very best for you, but, He also wants the Glory.

Today I dedicate this message to my Aunt Patty. Some of you are having a tough time with what is going on in your life! What has God said to you? Whatever God has said, hold on to that promise. God is a creative God, the God of miracles, signs and wonders. Put your confidence in Him and keep fighting. Paul never had the idea of jumping ship. He knew the ship would crash because it was told him by the angel of the Lord. The angel of the Lord said something very powerful though… None will lose life if they will stay aboard. The only thing that was going to happen was loss of a ship. We need to have such confidence in our Lord! If He said something was going to happen and that He would take care of Paul and his ship mates. Take heart and let no fear cause you to jump ship! Hang On! God is still on the throne and in control. He will get you through your storm! While God did not create the storm, He can still get you through it. Press on and press ahead!

Isaiah 41:10

King James Version (KJV)

10Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Have you ever felt so tired that no matter what you eat or drink it would never keep you awake? Have you ever felt so weary from worry that you felt like you could not go any further. Well, I know something that is better than any energy drink or food. It’s the Word of God (Bible). I have found myself at times so tired not even crowbars could open my eye lids. I used to worry so much that no matter how much rest I did have, I would be exhausted. This is exactly what the enemy wants for you. He wants you so tired that you will not even look at your Word. The more you focus on your tiredness or on your worries the better satan’s kingdom gets. Why? Because you’re so tired that you will not wage war against him or his cohorts. BUT…

God is your Strength and Courage. God is your Strong Tower in the midst of a battle. God will give you strength. The God kind of strength nobody can match. God, in His right hand will UP HOLD you in righteousness. I like that word uphold meaning to lift you up. Keep you firm and established. He will help you to stay on the foundation… Jesus.

So, if your tired of being tired then look to the Lord. He will uphold you. He will strengthen and guide you. Stop worrying because God is still on His throne. Nobody is going to uproot Him or kick Him out. Worrying will keep you tired but reading the Word of God will energize you. The Word of God will encourage you and bring rest. God gives His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2). He gives them good rest. Rest in Him. Consistent worry keeps people from doing the God kind of things…Miracles, Signs and Wonders. Worry holds Faith in captivity. So, if you’re not seeing what you are believing for maybe you have been using the perverted faith… FEAR and WORRY.

Get rest, get faith, get moving and stop confessing I am always tired. Proverbs 18:21 Death and Life are in the Power of the Tongue and they that Love it shall Eat the Fruit thereof.

Be Blessed!
