James 2:8

Amplified Bible (AMP)

If indeed you [really] fulfill the royal Law in accordance with the Scripture, You shall love your neighbor as [you love] yourself, you do well.(A)

What is the Royal Law? The Royal Law is your Kingly prescribed duty of loving others regardless of what they say or do. You are to walk in love just like Jesus. You need to be willing to lay down your own rights to fulfill the Royal Law. You have a choice to let people see God the Father, who is love, working in you or you can let people see your bad attitude. Often we operate with good attitudes toward people and show love but when things get tough that is the moment we need to show love regardless of what we are going through.

I have said to many people, all I want to do is fulfill this Royal Law. I want to love people regardless of what they say to me or what they do unto me. My life is meant to fulfill the Love of God. I practice love daily in my own house. What do I mean about practicing love? Practicing love is choosing to love even when someone who is close to you makes a major mistake. Usually people are harder on their loved ones than on any other person.

Living a life of love to fulfill the Love of God is very exciting and it will draw others to you. This is what God did when He sent Jesus to the world. God was demonstrating His love for you and I that we would be drawn to Him. Loving your neighbor is not just the person who is next door but all you come in contact with. It’s easy to love someone when they act the way you want them to. However real love is when you love someone when they don’t act the way you want them to.

Real love is loving without the respect of persons. God does not care about color or design of people. He loves without respect of persons. God does not have favorites. So if the Heavenly Father does not have favorites we should love just like Him. It is possible to love like Him because Genesis 1:26 talks about us being created in His image and after His likeness. So this tells me that we can love like God and fulfill the Royal Law just like Jesus. Live to fulfill!

Be Blessed!

1 Thessalonians 5:24

King James Version (KJV)

24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

God is so very faithful. Your calling was not made up by you. Your calling did not come because of what someone prophesied. Your calling was ordained before you were conceived. Your calling was placed upon you the moment you were conceived in your mother’s womb. Your calling is a heavenly calling from God the Father. The prophecy you received about your calling is God waking you up to recognize what your calling is. Everyone has a calling. But not everyone knows their calling or even seeks God about their calling. Your calling has blueprints, directions and instructions of what you’re supposed to do. Your calling has a map of people you’re supposed to influence. The Bible says your calling is without repentance. Romans 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. Don’t waste time talking about your past. Talk about your calling! Walking in the call on your life will help you bless others. It will help you move forward.

God is faithful who called you. Because God is faithful, He will help you to walk out this calling on your life. Don’t wait for God to make some moves. Start out on your journey and God will instruct and guide you. Why? Because He desires to bless others. How does God do that? He does that through you. Make yourself available to your Pastors. Start participating in church and watch what God will do. Ask to help somewhere in your church. Helping is the grounds for training. Helping in your church will open opportunities to bless others.
The call on someone’s life is not about just receiving the blessings. It’s about meeting the needs of hurting humanity. The world is in need of a Savior, Jesus. Jesus is the Savior for the world. There will never be another Savior. His calling was to teach, preach, die, rise, release, defeat sin, ascend and come back again for His people. What an awesome calling! He fulfilled it and God helped Him the whole way. When you decide to receive your calling you will begin to fulfill what God ordained before you were born. When you surrender to the call of God on your life the blessings will start to overflow and overtake you. You will not have to look for the blessings because you will be living in them. Remember… It is not you who has orchestrated the call. God who is faithful orchestrated it all and He will also do it. Make yourself available!
P.S. Remember this is Pastors appreciation month. Encourage your Pastors this month. After all they encourage you month after month.

Ephesians 4:7

Amplified Bible (AMP)

Yet grace (God’s unmerited favor) was given to each of us individually [not indiscriminately, but in different ways] in proportion to the measure of Christ’s [rich and bounteous] gift.

Jesus’ grace was unmeasurable. Jesus had power without measure. This grace given to you and I is without measure. Grace is of the merciful kindness by which God, exerting his holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise of the Christian virtues. (BLB) Blue Letter Bible.

Because this grace is unmeasurable it means that it is extended to anyone. It is not restrictive. God’s grace for you came from His love for you. If God did not love you it would be impossible to give you unmeasurable grace. If God didn’t love you there would be no way for you to be saved. God loves you so much that He sent Jesus as the saving grace. The measure of Christ’s gift was His death on the cross. It was the greatest sacrifice. It was unmeasurable because it was meant for all humans. However we can’t use this grace to sin willfully. Grace is the gift of bountifulness, acceptance, unmerited favor, liberality, blessings bestowed upon. You can’t earn grace. Grace can not be worked for. Grace is an extension of God’s love for you and for the world. That is why accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is your choice. Grace is given and it causes favor upon your life. Favor is opening of doors that man can not open and man can not close.

Jesus had favor everywhere He went. I literally started to tell everyone that I have favor. I announce the favor of God on my life. I proclaim God’s grace is sufficient for me and my family. I rejoice over the fact that I am blessed and highly favored. What this does for me is, it reminds me of who I am and whose I am. I am God’s child. I am a son of God. You’re a child of God! That means you are a carrier of grace, the unmerited favor. Because of this grace in your life you are also to extend this to everyone else. Regardless of what someone has said to you or done to you, you must extend grace. After all God extends grace to you when you act crazy or stupid. I am not calling anyone stupid but you can act that way.

Grace is given through the love of God. That is how grace operates. So should you extend grace to someone? Be sweet like Jesus and extend grace. Grace is what will win someone to the Lord. Favor is a by-product of grace. It opens doors, it brings blessings, it sets people free and it loves unconditionally. The grace factor is God’s heart for dying man.

1 Corinthians 4:2

Amplified Bible (AMP)

Moreover, it is [essentially] required of stewards that a man should be found faithful [proving himself worthy of trust].

In this verse we see it is a basic requirement for a person to be found faithful. What is faithful? Faithful is one who is loyal or constant. Christians today need to be loyal and constant. Quite often I find people who want to do something but never follow through. They are constant in their talk but not faithful in their actions. As a minister of the Gospel it is vitally important to read my Bible and pray everyday. It vitally important that I be constant and loyal to God. Why? Because it will help me to be constant and loyal to my family and ministry.

God has entrusted me with a powerful ministry. The first part of the ministry is to God, then my wife, then my children and then the church. If I am to be a blessing to others then I have to read and pray and have fellowship with God. Through the years I have found that the more time I spend with God the better my marriage becomes. The more time I spend with God, my relationship with my sons grows.

When life is not good you can count on God being faithful to help you. When life is going great can God count on you being faithful? Many times things will start to go right for a family and then they stop fellowshipping with God. This is not being faithful. Being faithful is staying constant with God and staying constant with your responsibilities.

The topic of this devotion is staying faithful even if…  Your dog dies, family problems, doesn’t feel like God is talking to you, have an argument with your spouse, children act up, finances are messed up, car problems…ETC. Will you stay faithful through it all? Will you be constant with God?

The proving ground of faithfulness is staying constant regardless of any situation, good or bad. Stay faithful because there is always a reward.

My dad has taught me to be faithful in everything I do. My dad has been an inspiration to me and shown me what it is like to stay faithful in the midst of adversity. He has shown me to stay strong and deliberate in my work. He taught me a core lesson on what it means to hold to your word. He taught me to give more than my best and not to require praise.

I dedicate this devotion to you dad. Thank you for staying constant and faithful. Thank you for not giving up or giving in. Thank you for staying by my side even when I disappointed you. Thank you for showing me the love of God by being a faithful steward. Thank you for showing me how to be a good husband and father, because you’re faithful to mom and to your children. You dad are reaping the fruits of your loins!

Be Blessed!

1 Corinthians 1:9

King James Version (KJV)

God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Have you ever let someone down? Have you ever told someone you were going to do something but did not follow through? Have you ever promised something to your spouse or child only to forget to follow through with your promise?

Let me talk to you about God who is faithful and true. He will never leave you, nor forsake you. When your down in the dump, He is there for you. When everything is going great, He is there for you. When others have betrayed you, He is there for you. When you don’t feel well, He is there for you. When your spouse leaves you, He is there for you. All day and everyday God is there for you. Why? Because faithfulness means trust. I have lost trust in many people but not with God. He always shows me that He can be trusted. People will let you down and betray your trust, not God though.

It is impossible for God to let mankind down. Some may say… He did not help me when I was down and out. Okay I hear what you’re saying but did you know God is bound to His Word. God will not supersede His Word. He holds you and I responsible for ourselves. God is bound to His Word. He holds us responsible for the words that come out of our mouth. Proverbs 18:21(KJV) Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat the fruit thereof. God shows us that our words are death or life. Our words are like His words… POWERFUL. So, He is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. When a king decrees something, He can not change what he stated. If a king makes a law he can not change the law after it has been made.

God is moved by our words and satan is moved by our words. My children are moved by my words. My church is moved by my words. Why? Because I am the leader. If I say I am going to do something then I need to follow through or people will not trust me. The same is with God. If you want to receive Jesus all you have to do is call upon Him. God made conversation possible with Him through Jesus. No one has a right to God except through Jesus. You can’t even fellowship with God unless you have Jesus.

God who is faithful sent Jesus as a sin sacrifice so that you and I can have eternal life and have conversation with the Father. God was faithful in sending Jesus and having the prophets prophesy of His birth, death, and resurrection. God did not give a particular date when it would happen but He was faithful to deliver. So, if you’re having a hard time with trusting others don’t let that carry over to not trusting God. God is faithful just like His Word says.

Be Blessed!

Romans 13:14

King James Version (KJV)

14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

It’s very easy to put on Jesus Christ. This is a matter of choice! I like the way that the Apostle Paul addresses this issue. He is saying that if you will let every part of your life belong to the Lord then you will not be able to make room for your flesh.

If people can be possessed of the devil shouldn’t God’s children be possessed of the Holy Spirit. If we were to walk continually after the things of the Spirit there would be no time to daydream about your own personal lusts. Lusting is not just about sex. Lusting is about wasting time on your ungodly desires. I know I have some issues like everyone else but I know if Paul the Apostle can write this statement then I should be able to fulfill it daily.

The topic of this message is Don’t Put That On! Why? Because if you do it will only satisfy you for a moment. Providing for the flesh is about temporary things. Anything that is temporal is subject to change. Put on Christ and you will find eternal things. Put on the flesh and you will only find temporary gratification. Put on Christ and you will find eternal gratification.

Life is not always easy but if you were to limit the resources of your flesh, then you will find life easier and more peaceable. Peace is the umpire to do the will of the Lord.

Flesh is temporary but your Spirit is eternal. Make a choice to give no place to your flesh. How? By opening your Bible and reading it. By adding 15 minutes to your prayer time. By taking authority over your flesh and saying to your flesh “stop it.” By making a choice to praise and worship more. Whatever is born of flesh is flesh. Whatever is born of Spirit is Spirit.

God’s desire is that you will desire Him alone.

1 Corinthians 13:7

Amplified Bible (AMP)

7Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].

Love bears it all. Love never gets weak and always believes the very best about everyone. You can run away from God, but, God who is love, will never run away from you.

After I turned 19 years old I recommitted my life back to God to do whatever He needed me to do. However after a little time of working in my church I became jaded. I was disappointed with my Youth Pastor. There was a falling out between him and myself. I didn’t want to work for the church or God again. I was feeling really upset. I told God that I would do whatever He wanted except I had a big but… The but was if someone were to hurt me I would step down. I would leave the church! This is something I learned from others. When something would go wrong I would just give in and get out.

If everyone were to give up then the church would fail. Why? Because there will always be disappointments. Someone is going to hurt you. Someone is going to say something stupid. However, God never gave up on you. Especially when you said something hurtful or stupid. His love remained the same. His love is not conditional but unconditional. The Bible says that God is not a respecter of persons. If He was, then none of us would make Heaven. None of us would feel or sense love.

Maybe you have felt like you want to give in and get out of your church. Maybe you have felt like all Christians want to do is to hurt you. Maybe you feel like all Pastors are mean because you had a mean Pastor. Maybe your hurt because you have not let go of past hurts. If this should be you, let me encourage you!

Love believes the very best about every person. When someone does you wrong, choose to love them more. When they act stupid, love them more. Go out of your way to show love. Jesus was spit upon! How would you react? Love is always ready to believe the very best about every person. No matter what you say to me about someone I am going to choose to believe the very best about the person anyways. Loves hope is fadeless under all circumstances. Even when you watch someone be mean to another you can rely on love in the midst of the circumstance. Love never becomes weak.

In order for love to operate properly I needed to forgive and forget what the Youth Pastor did to me. I chose to walk in love instead of quitting! I started to reap a real blessing the moment I let love work. Today I am still ministering because of the love that Jesus has shown me and because I am not a quitter. I love because He first loved me. Love has made the circumstances of life small in my eyes. With love you can conquer a multitude of complaints, rifts and sins. With love you can cause others to walk like you. Be a leader! God is the strong safety you will never lose with.
