1 Timothy 6:12

King James Version (KJV)

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Many people talk about fighting the good fight of faith. Fighting the good fight of faith is not just fighting against satan and his cohorts. Fighting the good fight of faith is speaking faith words that bring forth reproduction. Your words bring forth reproduction. What you speak brings forth blessings or curses.

Jesus spoke and many were healed, delivered…ETC. Do words carry forth power? Yes! Scripture talks about your words and what they bring forth. The scripture in Matthew 12:37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Your words are very powerful. You can bless someone and curse someone. Your words can make a situation good or bad. You need to keep your words clean.

As a believer you need to lay hold of eternal life. This means you need to understand and comprehend your life as being forever in God’s presence. Why do you need to do this? So you can continually keep your words clean. Here is an example… People arrive at a crash and see cars all messed up. These people are not going to speak good things but they will speak about the crash and even potentially bad things. More than likely the people will start talking about death. Maybe no one died but people will talk as if someone died. Why? Because they are moved by the situation. The point is this, if you lay hold of eternal life you won’t speak death. Why? Because your life is moved by eternal life.

You have negative people and positive people in a room. Whoever you hang out with is who you will talk like. The same thing applies with who you’re listening too. If your life is filled up with satanic things and you’re constantly listening to condemnation, who will you talk like? You will talk like the devil. If your life is filled up with godly things and you’re constantly listening to life, love, peace, joy and faith, who will you talk like? God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Your words are the container of your heart. Whatever you place in your container clean or dirty will spill out. Be cautious of what you bring into your life. They will show where you have been. Your profession of life will be seen and heard by many witnesses. Keep your words clean!

Be Blessed!

Romans 13:14

King James Version (KJV)

14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Many times when we hear “lust of the flesh” or “lust” we always think about it pertaining to sex or sexual immorality. Many Pastors have spoken this from the pulpit, but I would like to tell you that it is much more than that. Let’s look at lusting after fear for example…

Did you know you could lust after all kinds of things other than possessions and sex? How about this… There are people who lust after worry, anxiety, fear, failure and death. As I began to run this morning I was talking to the Lord and He spoke this word to me. People that are in constant fear, lust after it. They think and meditate on it daily. I have given them scripture to take the thought captive, but their thinking tends to go to a lustful fear thought. I began to ask God what He meant by this. I have never thought about lusting after fear or anything else like this. Here was His response… A person who lusts after a person sexually thinks about it constantly. They entertain it until it is fulfilled or until they fulfill themselves. Fearful lust comes in the same thought patterns as sexual lust or possession lust. Worry and fear are synonymous!

A person who lusts after fear constantly replays it over and over again in his mind. They begin to speak it out loud and even speak it to others. They roll play what could happen. These people constantly imprison themselves. The thought of fear for some invigorates them. They can’t admit it but it is truthful for a person who fears. I used to have a great amount of fear. I used to fear flying and death. If I knew I was going to fly 6 months from a certain date I would begin the process. I would start to meditate on death and fearful thoughts. I was lusting after it. When I would get on the plane I would have high anxiety and feel terrible. By the time the plane had finished landing I was exhausted physically, emotionally and mentally. All of these signs point to a lustful behavior. Just like sexual lust, fearful lust makes you tired after the deed is done.

For thought purposes… If you don’t want to be lustful in any way, then you need to take every thought that exalts itself above the knowledge of God captive. If you want to be out of fear then you need to take that thought captive. Fear starts with the thought and then the emotions will take place after. Get your soul in line with God’s Word. The soul is the mind, will and emotions. Keeping yourself in check will keep you from sinning and consistently struggling. Keep your mind renewed on God’s Word. Take every evil thought captive. Resist the devil and he will flee. Meditate on God’s Word day and night and keep it before your eyes. Sing spiritual songs and hymns and pray without ceasing. Doing so will keep you from being lustful.
