Proverbs 17:14

King James Version (KJV)

14 The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.

When reading this scripture what sticks out greatly is… The beginning of strife is like a person who lets out water. When you let out water, it will go anywhere. When you let out strife it will go anywhere. Water can flood a house in a matter of minutes. Strife can flood a relationship in a matter of seconds. If someone were to open the Hoover Dam it would flood cities in a matter of minutes. It would cause immediate destruction and chaos. Water does not care where it goes and how it goes. Water moves quickly. Just like water strife does the same thing. Strife always leaves immediate destruction and utter chaos.

Strife is like water, it does not matter where it goes and how it gets there. Once strife gets in, it will flood every good thing with contention and division. Strife causes destruction and leaves major pain after it raises its ugly head. Strife is contentious and leaves a bitter mark on the lives it touches. Strife between a Husband and Wife will leave a mark on their children and those around them. Strife in a church will divide the sheep from the shepherd. Strife is a tactic of the enemy to seek and destroy. Strife is meant to divide and conquer. Where there is strife there is every evil work of the enemy. When there is strife and contention there is disunity.

The best way to keep strife out is to seek forgiveness, release forgiveness to others and guard against contention and division. Strife settles in to a person’s heart where there is unforgiveness and when the love of God is not present. In 1 Peter 4:8 Amplified Bible (AMP) Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins [forgives and [a]disregards the offenses of others]. Love covers the multitude of sin. Love disallows the work of strife. To keep strife out, a person needs to have the Love of God at work in them.

To prevent strife, a person needs to practice the Love of God. The Love of God keeps unity and peace. Unity is good because it brings the brethren together. Peace keeps all situations under control. Remember, if you want to be at peace with those around you, then you should keep strife out of your conversations, feelings and life. Cast down strife and watch the chaos disappear.

Ephesians 4:7

Amplified Bible (AMP)

Yet grace (God’s unmerited favor) was given to each of us individually [not indiscriminately, but in different ways] in proportion to the measure of Christ’s [rich and bounteous] gift.

Jesus’ grace was unmeasurable. Jesus had power without measure. This grace given to you and I is without measure. Grace is of the merciful kindness by which God, exerting his holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise of the Christian virtues. (BLB) Blue Letter Bible.

Because this grace is unmeasurable it means that it is extended to anyone. It is not restrictive. God’s grace for you came from His love for you. If God did not love you it would be impossible to give you unmeasurable grace. If God didn’t love you there would be no way for you to be saved. God loves you so much that He sent Jesus as the saving grace. The measure of Christ’s gift was His death on the cross. It was the greatest sacrifice. It was unmeasurable because it was meant for all humans. However we can’t use this grace to sin willfully. Grace is the gift of bountifulness, acceptance, unmerited favor, liberality, blessings bestowed upon. You can’t earn grace. Grace can not be worked for. Grace is an extension of God’s love for you and for the world. That is why accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is your choice. Grace is given and it causes favor upon your life. Favor is opening of doors that man can not open and man can not close.

Jesus had favor everywhere He went. I literally started to tell everyone that I have favor. I announce the favor of God on my life. I proclaim God’s grace is sufficient for me and my family. I rejoice over the fact that I am blessed and highly favored. What this does for me is, it reminds me of who I am and whose I am. I am God’s child. I am a son of God. You’re a child of God! That means you are a carrier of grace, the unmerited favor. Because of this grace in your life you are also to extend this to everyone else. Regardless of what someone has said to you or done to you, you must extend grace. After all God extends grace to you when you act crazy or stupid. I am not calling anyone stupid but you can act that way.

Grace is given through the love of God. That is how grace operates. So should you extend grace to someone? Be sweet like Jesus and extend grace. Grace is what will win someone to the Lord. Favor is a by-product of grace. It opens doors, it brings blessings, it sets people free and it loves unconditionally. The grace factor is God’s heart for dying man.

Galatians 5:9

Amplified Bible (AMP)

A little leaven (a slight inclination to error, or a few false teachers) leavens the whole lump [it perverts the whole conception of faith or misleads the whole church].

Interesting what Apostle Paul is talking about here. He basically said the same thing Jesus said in Matthew 16:6 Amplified Bible Jesus said to them, Be careful and on your guard against the leaven (ferment) of the Pharisees and Sadducees. Why did Paul and Jesus say this? What did they know that we need to know. They understood the concerns of false teaching, prophecy and laws.

The church today needs to be cautious of these things. It does not mean that the Pastor will be the one doing it. There are people who will come into a church and say a few things yet they are wolves wearing sheep’s clothing. I say to you be cautious of who you are listening to and who you’re keeping company with. Why? Because they could be the one who is polluting you with their version of doctrine.

Here is a crude analogy of the Believer…The believer is like a filled donut. The filled donut could look good and smell good but they could have nothing but rot on the inside. There is nothing like a Raspberry filled donut. Sugar on the outside and sweet filled jam on the inside. However if the donut has been sitting in the display cabinet for two weeks it might look good on the outside but what is on the inside could be fermented. Taking a first bite could taste good because you might not have gotten to the center of the jam. Once into the center of the jam you noticed something seems a little off. If you continue you could end up getting sick. You will be known by the filling on the inside of you. You will be known by the doctrine you speak and who you keep company with. You will be known by your belief system. Why? Because you will promote what you want and how you want things to be.

Believers who are fermented usually ferment others. 1 Corinthians 15:33 Amplified Bible (AMP) 33 Do not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt and deprave good manners and morals and character. It is very important who you hang out with.

Do you want to be blessed? Do you want the blessings on you? Then fill yourself with the Word of God daily. Pray throughout your day. Sing praise and worship songs. Bless the Lord with all you have. Do this daily. Why? Because you will fill yourself up with that sweet savor that God is looking for. How does this happen? God’s Word is powerful and mighty. If you spend time with Him, He will not corrupt you or let you down. God will encourage you throughout your day and you will most certainly walk in the blessing. Stay focused on the Word of God and you will not be tempted to participate with fermented things. Stay in the Word of God and you will see what is right and what is wrong. You will be able to discern the leaven in people. This is not an excuse to remove yourself but an opportunity to teach someone. Some will not be teachable but some will. Be ready in season and out of season.

Galatians 3:13-14

The Message (MSG)

13-14 Christ redeemed us from that self-defeating, cursed life by absorbing it completely into himself. Do you remember the Scripture that says, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”? That is what happened when Jesus was nailed to the cross: He became a curse, and at the same time dissolved the curse. And now, because of that, the air is cleared and we can see that Abraham’s blessing is present and available for non-Jews, too. We are all able to receive God’s life, his Spirit, in and with us by believing—just the way Abraham received it.

Christ has removed you from that law of defeat and has placed you in the blessing. God’s blessing is available to anyone who receives Jesus. It’s impossible to have the blessing of Abraham on your life without first accepting Jesus. The blessing comes upon you the moment that you accept Jesus.

Jesus took the cross for you. You did not hang on a tree and if you did then you would be considered cursed. Jesus took the curse so that you would not have to. Jesus laid down His life so that the blessing would come upon you and overtake you. Blessing means God’s favor and protection upon you. It also means grace. Grace is the dividing factor between the curse and the blessing. You can’t be blessed and cursed at the same time.

Many times I have heard people talk about how bad they have something, but in reality if they would really look upon their lives they would be able to see the blessing. You will go through trials and tribulations but that does not mean the blessing is removed. It does not mean that grace has left you. Getting through the problem is a matter of your confession of faith in God’s Word. Confession means to speak like God speaks. God does not speak death, He speaks life and blessing. Instead of being stubborn about talking the problem and the cursed things, start being adamant about talking your blessing and the grace that God has made sufficient for you. God’s grace is always abounding and the blessing is always abounding. Stand in your blessing! Talk your blessing! Walk in your blessing!

You might say I don’t know how? Okay… Say this… I am blessed of the Lord. The blessing of the Lord is upon me and it makes room for me always. I am a child of the most high God and I am seated in heavenly places. God’s grace abounds in me and I am a distributor of this grace. The blessing of the Lord makes me rich and I have no sorrow because God will not add that to me. I am blessed and the devil knows it. I am not moved by what I see or hear. I am moved by the Word of God and the Holy Spirit. I am not a curse but a blessing because of Jesus. God is my source and I will make Him known. The devil can’t defeat me unless I give in to him. I will not allow him to rob me of my blessings in Jesus name.

John 6:2

Amplified Bible (AMP)

2And a great crowd was following Him because they had seen the signs (miracles) which He [continually] performed upon those who were sick.

Jesus still heals today! This is the business of the Kingdom of God. Where is this kingdom? It’s in you. You have the ability to lay hands on the sick so that people will recover. You have the ability to cast out demons. You have the same abilities as Jesus. As a matter of fact and truth, you are supposed to see these things right before your eyes. When you receive Jesus as your Savior, you receive the same healing powers as Jesus. This might sound extreme for some, but, I tell you of a truth that Jesus says you shall go and lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.  Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. One of the reasons why miracles are not always seen is the belief of the people. Another reason is the lack of belief in the Word and on the Word (Jesus the Word). I believe the biggest problem with seeing miracles, signs and wonders is a lack of fellowship with the Father. Fellowship is the business of Heaven. Fellowship is the business of the Kingdom of God.

Someone once told me how a friend of theirs got their healing when they made it to heaven. I laughed out loud. I laughed because of shock. I was not trying to be rude. When you look at a long time Christian and they tell you that their friend received healing when they made it Heaven, it told me of their ignorance of the Word of God. Why? Because you do not need healing when you go to Heaven. As a matter of fact you can’t call it healing… It’s called death! You don’t take this body with you! In Heaven you get a new body. Why would you need healing in Heaven? When you leave this body you take off the mortal and put on immortality. Healing is for now!

The Heavenly business is fellowship. Fellowship will help you to better understand the Father. It will cause the crowds to come and see what God is doing in the ministry that He put you in charge of. I believe the crowds will start coming when our fellowship with the Father gets stronger. I believe the healing miracles will start coming when we step out and do what the Word says to do. I believe there will be a major outpouring when we make Heaven our business. To do ministry, it takes time! Are you making time for the Word? Are you making time for God? Is there any Heavenly Business going on in your life? I challenge you to answer these questions with a self-examination. Evaluate… Am I truly living like Jesus told me to live or am I living how I want to live? Am I about the Heavenly Business? Leave me your thoughts.

Romans 8:28

King James Version (KJV)

28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

The reason why He (God) called, is that He has a purpose for you. Ring, Ring, Ring are you going to answer it? Will you go per the instructions? This is what happened to me a little over four years ago. I was called to step off the ledge. I was called to a new place. While it looked crazy and almost too scary I had to go. Why? Because God called me according to His purpose. He had a place I needed to go. He wanted me to go somewhere, where I could not depend on family or friends. I had to take a step of faith. I had to leave to another state that I knew nothing about. I had to be the Pastor of a church I knew virtually nothing about. I did not even know the people. All that I have, is God’s Word, on what I needed to do. In one month I closed a five-year old business, packed my house, gathered my wife and children and left for a new state and new church. My faith in God was being stretched. I was driving knowing what state and city I was going to be in, but, there was the unknown about what I was going to do. I knew I was the Pastor but I still did not know the people. I had the vision but it was not known how I would get there. I had the vision years before I would leave. What I did not have, was the provision (money). God wanted me to stretch my faith. Faith is seeing what people call the invisible. It is stepping into the unknown. Faith is believing God even when it looks impossible. Faith is resting assure that God is in control. Faith is full of patience in the midst of a trial and tribulation. Faith in God will cause you to leap from the mountain top. Why? Because He called you for that purpose. You can’t have a testimony without having faith at work.

Instructions per the call will help you to accomplish the purpose. Many people are called but only a few will answer. You can’t screen godly calls because if you do, you will miss the blessing. Many people today screen calls because of being tired. They don’t want to answer because of what they may be asked to do. Let me say this to you… If you don’t pick up the call now, there will be that constant ringing that you will hear until you die. When you accepted Jesus you accepted the fact that He was going to call you. Listen to this analogy, its crude but truthful. Facebook a lot of people are on it. Someone on there sees your face and then they put in a friend request. It’s up to you to accept or deny. It’s them calling you and wanting to be part of your life. God when He calls, He is wanting to share his life with you. He wants you to help Him be known. He wants you to answer the call to make Him known. He wants you to talk highly about His Son. Many people say they want to fulfill God’s call for their life but they are either too busy, too tired, too selfish…ETC. God is calling you! He needs people for His purpose!

Answer the call today and watch how you will prosper in everything. Why? Because He called you for His purpose. He called you to do something and He knows you can fulfill it. His call on your life comes without repentance. He knows what He’s doing. When He called you, He knew what He was getting into. Let me encourage you with a portion more of my testimony… I am still at work with the vision and calling in my life. I decided over four years ago I would be the one who would answer the call. I decided, I would be faithful, even when it would cost me my reputation. I decided to answer, because, He said He would never leave me or forsake me. I answered because, He gave me a purpose. I am still working for His purpose and I am expectant everyday. I have had some hard days but my weeks, months and years have been great. God is doing great things in my life and in the life of my family and in the life of my church family. If I wouldn’t have stepped out, I would not have met the greatest people in the world (Houstonians). I would not be as blessed as I am today. I would not have the greatest church (Love Walk Christian Center) in the world and I would not be pleasing my God who called me for His purpose. Step up and step out, it’s the call God placed on your life.

Acts 27:22-25;30-31

King James Version (KJV)

22And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship. 23For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, 24Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. 25Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. 30And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship, 31Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.

Such confidence did Paul have in the midst of potential death. Wow! How many of you have confidence in the Word of the Lord? Do you trust God completely with your life? Do you believe what He said He would do? God wants to work things through you and get all the Glory. He is looking for someone with Such Great Confidence! God, when He speaks, He speaks as someone who is all-knowing. The problem we have as Christians is believing everything He says!

Imagine this… Everyone on that ship had to listen to a prisoner to be saved. Everyone on that ship had to believe what Paul stated in order to live. He said I have heard from the Angel of the Lord of whose I am. Meaning there was God’s angel, God’s messenger. A protector to Paul. God told Paul that he was going to go to Rome. Do you think God just wants to change His mind? Some people believe God says He is going to give them something and then change His mind. When God speaks you need to get confidence in knowing that He will fulfill whatever He has said to you. God is not going to change His mind to work against you. Remember God is for you! Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He wants the very best for you, but, He also wants the Glory.

Today I dedicate this message to my Aunt Patty. Some of you are having a tough time with what is going on in your life! What has God said to you? Whatever God has said, hold on to that promise. God is a creative God, the God of miracles, signs and wonders. Put your confidence in Him and keep fighting. Paul never had the idea of jumping ship. He knew the ship would crash because it was told him by the angel of the Lord. The angel of the Lord said something very powerful though… None will lose life if they will stay aboard. The only thing that was going to happen was loss of a ship. We need to have such confidence in our Lord! If He said something was going to happen and that He would take care of Paul and his ship mates. Take heart and let no fear cause you to jump ship! Hang On! God is still on the throne and in control. He will get you through your storm! While God did not create the storm, He can still get you through it. Press on and press ahead!
