1 Timothy 1:5

Amplified Bible (AMP)

Whereas the object and purpose of our instruction and charge is love, which springs from a pure heart and a good (clear) conscience and sincere (unfeigned) faith.

Real love and real purpose is what most people in the world are looking for. People want genuineness. The word love is said often without purpose and sincerity. Just because you’re Christian does not mean that you are full of love. I have heard many people say I love you, yet I don’t see it in their actions. Why? Because the love they speak is not of purpose.

Purpose in the Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary is defined as that which a person sets before himself as an object to be reached or accomplished; the end or aim to which the view is directed in any plan, measure or exertion. Intention.

Let me define purpose this way. Purpose is something that a person sets out to fulfill. It is intentional and it comes at great price.

Love is not just something we say but something that we intentionally do. Love is not to be thrown around like words. Love is an action not a feeling. Feelings are temporal and love is not. Real love has a real purpose. Real love is the demonstration of Jesus on the cross for your sins and for your life in eternity. Real love is when you can forgive regardless of what someone has done to you. Real love is not talked about, it’s given with no strings attached. Real love is not about you but about the one who is love. 1 John 4:8 Amplified Bible (AMP) He who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love. God loves you and His love came with real purpose. God’s purpose was and is that all humans would be saved. His love for humankind is so great that He willingly gave us Jesus His only Son. That is real love!

Real love comes at a great price. Real love says, “If you hurt me I will still love you.” Real love says, “I forgive and I choose to forget your sin against me.” How is that possible? Scripture says in Hebrews 8:12 (KJV) For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. God, being merciful, is forgiving and not remembering your sin. This is not just mercy but real love with real purpose. God’s purpose for you is to love like Him.

For you to love like God, you will need to know God. How do you do that? Talk to God like you would talk to your friends. Give God your time. For you to love sincerely you will need to purpose in your heart to truly forgive.

1 Thessalonians 5:24

King James Version (KJV)

24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

God is so very faithful. Your calling was not made up by you. Your calling did not come because of what someone prophesied. Your calling was ordained before you were conceived. Your calling was placed upon you the moment you were conceived in your mother’s womb. Your calling is a heavenly calling from God the Father. The prophecy you received about your calling is God waking you up to recognize what your calling is. Everyone has a calling. But not everyone knows their calling or even seeks God about their calling. Your calling has blueprints, directions and instructions of what you’re supposed to do. Your calling has a map of people you’re supposed to influence. The Bible says your calling is without repentance. Romans 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. Don’t waste time talking about your past. Talk about your calling! Walking in the call on your life will help you bless others. It will help you move forward.

God is faithful who called you. Because God is faithful, He will help you to walk out this calling on your life. Don’t wait for God to make some moves. Start out on your journey and God will instruct and guide you. Why? Because He desires to bless others. How does God do that? He does that through you. Make yourself available to your Pastors. Start participating in church and watch what God will do. Ask to help somewhere in your church. Helping is the grounds for training. Helping in your church will open opportunities to bless others.
The call on someone’s life is not about just receiving the blessings. It’s about meeting the needs of hurting humanity. The world is in need of a Savior, Jesus. Jesus is the Savior for the world. There will never be another Savior. His calling was to teach, preach, die, rise, release, defeat sin, ascend and come back again for His people. What an awesome calling! He fulfilled it and God helped Him the whole way. When you decide to receive your calling you will begin to fulfill what God ordained before you were born. When you surrender to the call of God on your life the blessings will start to overflow and overtake you. You will not have to look for the blessings because you will be living in them. Remember… It is not you who has orchestrated the call. God who is faithful orchestrated it all and He will also do it. Make yourself available!
P.S. Remember this is Pastors appreciation month. Encourage your Pastors this month. After all they encourage you month after month.

1 Corinthians 4:2

Amplified Bible (AMP)

Moreover, it is [essentially] required of stewards that a man should be found faithful [proving himself worthy of trust].

In this verse we see it is a basic requirement for a person to be found faithful. What is faithful? Faithful is one who is loyal or constant. Christians today need to be loyal and constant. Quite often I find people who want to do something but never follow through. They are constant in their talk but not faithful in their actions. As a minister of the Gospel it is vitally important to read my Bible and pray everyday. It vitally important that I be constant and loyal to God. Why? Because it will help me to be constant and loyal to my family and ministry.

God has entrusted me with a powerful ministry. The first part of the ministry is to God, then my wife, then my children and then the church. If I am to be a blessing to others then I have to read and pray and have fellowship with God. Through the years I have found that the more time I spend with God the better my marriage becomes. The more time I spend with God, my relationship with my sons grows.

When life is not good you can count on God being faithful to help you. When life is going great can God count on you being faithful? Many times things will start to go right for a family and then they stop fellowshipping with God. This is not being faithful. Being faithful is staying constant with God and staying constant with your responsibilities.

The topic of this devotion is staying faithful even if…  Your dog dies, family problems, doesn’t feel like God is talking to you, have an argument with your spouse, children act up, finances are messed up, car problems…ETC. Will you stay faithful through it all? Will you be constant with God?

The proving ground of faithfulness is staying constant regardless of any situation, good or bad. Stay faithful because there is always a reward.

My dad has taught me to be faithful in everything I do. My dad has been an inspiration to me and shown me what it is like to stay faithful in the midst of adversity. He has shown me to stay strong and deliberate in my work. He taught me a core lesson on what it means to hold to your word. He taught me to give more than my best and not to require praise.

I dedicate this devotion to you dad. Thank you for staying constant and faithful. Thank you for not giving up or giving in. Thank you for staying by my side even when I disappointed you. Thank you for showing me the love of God by being a faithful steward. Thank you for showing me how to be a good husband and father, because you’re faithful to mom and to your children. You dad are reaping the fruits of your loins!

Be Blessed!

1 Corinthians 1:9

King James Version (KJV)

God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Have you ever let someone down? Have you ever told someone you were going to do something but did not follow through? Have you ever promised something to your spouse or child only to forget to follow through with your promise?

Let me talk to you about God who is faithful and true. He will never leave you, nor forsake you. When your down in the dump, He is there for you. When everything is going great, He is there for you. When others have betrayed you, He is there for you. When you don’t feel well, He is there for you. When your spouse leaves you, He is there for you. All day and everyday God is there for you. Why? Because faithfulness means trust. I have lost trust in many people but not with God. He always shows me that He can be trusted. People will let you down and betray your trust, not God though.

It is impossible for God to let mankind down. Some may say… He did not help me when I was down and out. Okay I hear what you’re saying but did you know God is bound to His Word. God will not supersede His Word. He holds you and I responsible for ourselves. God is bound to His Word. He holds us responsible for the words that come out of our mouth. Proverbs 18:21(KJV) Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat the fruit thereof. God shows us that our words are death or life. Our words are like His words… POWERFUL. So, He is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. When a king decrees something, He can not change what he stated. If a king makes a law he can not change the law after it has been made.

God is moved by our words and satan is moved by our words. My children are moved by my words. My church is moved by my words. Why? Because I am the leader. If I say I am going to do something then I need to follow through or people will not trust me. The same is with God. If you want to receive Jesus all you have to do is call upon Him. God made conversation possible with Him through Jesus. No one has a right to God except through Jesus. You can’t even fellowship with God unless you have Jesus.

God who is faithful sent Jesus as a sin sacrifice so that you and I can have eternal life and have conversation with the Father. God was faithful in sending Jesus and having the prophets prophesy of His birth, death, and resurrection. God did not give a particular date when it would happen but He was faithful to deliver. So, if you’re having a hard time with trusting others don’t let that carry over to not trusting God. God is faithful just like His Word says.

Hebrews 5:14
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Strong meat belongs to those who are of full age. Are you ready? The Church will always have babies, but, those babies need to grow up and get off the basic milk of the Word of God. There are Christians in the Church worldwide that have been in church all their lives, yet they are still just sucking on the bottle of the Word. Christians it’s time for you to grow up! God does not want you to stay a baby. God wants you to grow up and expand His Kingdom. If all you do is just hang out and be a baby then you will always need attention and caring for. God expects His people to get into the Word of God and begin to eat like a mature Christian. I think it’s funny when a so-called mature Christian acts like a baby. They begin to kick and scream and want it their way all the time. They talk like their mature, but in reality they are just old babies!

Look at the baby Christians today. Many of them are passing the mature Christians because they are hearing the Word of God and they are taking it in like a sponge. These babies are growing up quickly! Why? Because they are hungry. They are not making excuses about this person said this and that person said this. They are not saying… “This is the way we always do it.” You can see with this statement many so-called mature Christians would say that statement. Why? Because the so-called mature Christians like to live in the box or live in religion or some mans philosophy. The babies are the ones coming up with new ideas and they are reading their Bibles and they are willing to go. Mature Christians can be like stubborn mules. Try to make a stubborn mule drink! It’s difficult! You would be better off washing a cat!

I remember one time when I was child, I got hurt playing soccer and I remember my dad telling me that I needed to get up and shake it off. He told me to be a man. Well I did not like that statement, but it is so true. Many times the devil or even people try to knock me down but I must get up and shake it off because I am a mature Christian. It doesn’t matter if your just Joe Shmoe or even the Pastor. Attacks are going to come and as mature Christians we need to go to our Bible and read and pray and stand tall.

Listen God wants us to grow up and eat well. I am not talking about natural food. I am talking about spiritual food. God desires us to have a relationship where we talk to him and listen. God does not want us to coo like a child, rather He wants us to talk to Him like strong mature Christians. He wants to build something in each one of you. God wants the best for His children. He wants you to mature in His Word, in Prayer, in loving Him, in loving others and He wants you to mature so that you will further His Kingdom. Babies always have to be changed and cleaned up. Adults can take care of the themselves and help others. Babies can’t talk, but adults can. Babies have to throw fits to get attention, but adults just need to ask. The true sign of a mature Christian is someone who is continually exercising the Word of God. Someone who is willing to push forward and someone who is willing to give their all. Babies always need someone. Mature Christians only need God! So what are you? Are you still a baby or are you a mature Christian? If you have failed, which all people do, get back on your feet and don’t give up. Mature Christians never say, “I give up!” Get yourself up and stop letting the devil beat you down. Stand up, ask for forgiveness for acting like a baby and press forward. You can do it! God is still on His throne and He has not left you or forsaken you!

You are God’s great creation and you have power. You have dominion and strength. You have peace and joy. You have faith, the God kind of faith, the kind of faith that moves mountains.Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. You are righteous through Christ Jesus.  1 Corinthians 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: You are holy because He is holy.1 Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
