Proverbs 17:14

King James Version (KJV)

14 The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.

When reading this scripture what sticks out greatly is… The beginning of strife is like a person who lets out water. When you let out water, it will go anywhere. When you let out strife it will go anywhere. Water can flood a house in a matter of minutes. Strife can flood a relationship in a matter of seconds. If someone were to open the Hoover Dam it would flood cities in a matter of minutes. It would cause immediate destruction and chaos. Water does not care where it goes and how it goes. Water moves quickly. Just like water strife does the same thing. Strife always leaves immediate destruction and utter chaos.

Strife is like water, it does not matter where it goes and how it gets there. Once strife gets in, it will flood every good thing with contention and division. Strife causes destruction and leaves major pain after it raises its ugly head. Strife is contentious and leaves a bitter mark on the lives it touches. Strife between a Husband and Wife will leave a mark on their children and those around them. Strife in a church will divide the sheep from the shepherd. Strife is a tactic of the enemy to seek and destroy. Strife is meant to divide and conquer. Where there is strife there is every evil work of the enemy. When there is strife and contention there is disunity.

The best way to keep strife out is to seek forgiveness, release forgiveness to others and guard against contention and division. Strife settles in to a person’s heart where there is unforgiveness and when the love of God is not present. In 1 Peter 4:8 Amplified Bible (AMP) Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins [forgives and [a]disregards the offenses of others]. Love covers the multitude of sin. Love disallows the work of strife. To keep strife out, a person needs to have the Love of God at work in them.

To prevent strife, a person needs to practice the Love of God. The Love of God keeps unity and peace. Unity is good because it brings the brethren together. Peace keeps all situations under control. Remember, if you want to be at peace with those around you, then you should keep strife out of your conversations, feelings and life. Cast down strife and watch the chaos disappear.

Hebrews 1:3

Amplified Bible (AMP)

He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the [a]out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God’s] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. When He had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high,

Jesus has purged our sins. He has taken us from unrighteousness to righteousness. The thing that is so awesome is that Jesus upholds, maintains, guides and propels the universe by His mighty word. God’s Word is the same yesterday, today and forever. When you receive the Lord Jesus as your Savior, all your sins are purged. Purged in the New Oxford American Dictionary means: rid (someone) of an unwanted feeling, memory, or condition. The purpose of purging is to get rid of something that holds you back. Purging helps you by propelling you forward. How? When you confess and repent of the unrighteous behavior, you purge out all sin. Sin holds you down or holds you back. Purging brings deliverance. Deliverance allows you to move forward without hindrances. Memories of your sins hold you back and this is called condemnation. Condemnation comes from satan and he will help you to recall your old sins which have already been forgiven. Say “NO, it’s under the blood of Jesus.” I will not look back because I am delivered. I am sanctified by the blood of the lamb. I am set free! God does not remember my sin anymore because His Word says so in Hebrews 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

God wants you to be free from sin, that is why He sent Jesus. Jesus was sent to save human-kind. Let me re-iterate something… You have to call on the name of Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead to be saved. You can’t be saved without confessing Jesus as Lord. Romans 10:9-10 King James Version (KJV) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Jesus is Lord!

Ephesians 4:7

Amplified Bible (AMP)

Yet grace (God’s unmerited favor) was given to each of us individually [not indiscriminately, but in different ways] in proportion to the measure of Christ’s [rich and bounteous] gift.

Jesus’ grace was unmeasurable. Jesus had power without measure. This grace given to you and I is without measure. Grace is of the merciful kindness by which God, exerting his holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise of the Christian virtues. (BLB) Blue Letter Bible.

Because this grace is unmeasurable it means that it is extended to anyone. It is not restrictive. God’s grace for you came from His love for you. If God did not love you it would be impossible to give you unmeasurable grace. If God didn’t love you there would be no way for you to be saved. God loves you so much that He sent Jesus as the saving grace. The measure of Christ’s gift was His death on the cross. It was the greatest sacrifice. It was unmeasurable because it was meant for all humans. However we can’t use this grace to sin willfully. Grace is the gift of bountifulness, acceptance, unmerited favor, liberality, blessings bestowed upon. You can’t earn grace. Grace can not be worked for. Grace is an extension of God’s love for you and for the world. That is why accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is your choice. Grace is given and it causes favor upon your life. Favor is opening of doors that man can not open and man can not close.

Jesus had favor everywhere He went. I literally started to tell everyone that I have favor. I announce the favor of God on my life. I proclaim God’s grace is sufficient for me and my family. I rejoice over the fact that I am blessed and highly favored. What this does for me is, it reminds me of who I am and whose I am. I am God’s child. I am a son of God. You’re a child of God! That means you are a carrier of grace, the unmerited favor. Because of this grace in your life you are also to extend this to everyone else. Regardless of what someone has said to you or done to you, you must extend grace. After all God extends grace to you when you act crazy or stupid. I am not calling anyone stupid but you can act that way.

Grace is given through the love of God. That is how grace operates. So should you extend grace to someone? Be sweet like Jesus and extend grace. Grace is what will win someone to the Lord. Favor is a by-product of grace. It opens doors, it brings blessings, it sets people free and it loves unconditionally. The grace factor is God’s heart for dying man.

Ezekiel 33:30-33

King James Version (KJV)

30 Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the Lord.

31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.

32 And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

33 And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.

With the way everything is going in our world today, the believer needs to stop playing church. As I have said before it is time to stop playing. People have become so used to the feel good sermon that Pastors are more inclined to tickle the people’s ears and hearts. Church! God is not playing! The heart of the matter is that God is doing great things in the Earth and many believers are missing it. Why? Because they want to hear what they want to hear.

Believers it’s time to stop playing and only hearing what you want to hear. Covetousness can and will destroy a person’s heart. I want the people to be encouraged! However not at the cost of going to hell. I want people to be blessed but not at the cost of losing their soul. I want people to succeed but not at the stake of earning the worlds way.

God is pouring out in our Nation and in the World. He is looking for Worshipers to arise. The heart of truth is that the believer needs to step up and step out. The believer needs to listen and obey God. The believer needs to not talk truth but live it.

What is your part? Stop playing church, stop acting, start being real, step up to what you believe, make Jesus known in your family and in your community. Don’t just be a hearer of the Word, be a doer. In the book of James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. Many say they are doing something but in reality they are just talk. Be a doer, not just a hearer otherwise you will deceive yourself.

God is looking for doers and ones who will push ahead. You might mess up but if you do, don’t let it keep you down. Stay focused on Him! Keep your face forward and don’t look back. God is speaking are you listening?

Deuteronomy 6:8

And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

Let me ask you some questions. What was the purpose for binding the commandments to our hand? Why would we want to put the commandments as the frontlets between our eyes? If you look at some of the verses before this verse we see that God says and ” these words which I command thee this day shall be in your heart.”

As the topic suggests, we need to hold onto the Word of God. Something the church needs to consider… God gave these commandments for purpose. God knew that the world would come into a place of evil. We are to hold onto the Word of God for this purpose. Holding on to the Word of God is more than just keeping your Bible in your house or on your shelf. Holding on to the Word of God is about reading, meditating, searching, inquiring, requiring, teaching and living. There is a lot more but for discussion reasons I will just talk about the purpose of living by the Word of God.

I believe one of the purposes of having the Word of God in your hands is to keep your hands occupied and not doing foolish things. The Bible is the viable source for everything! It’s important to note that if you are not using your Bible then most likely you are not going to win every victory. God wanted the Word of God to be bound on our hand and as frontlets between our eyes so we can stay focused on Him and on His Word.

If we are going to stay victorious then we will need to have the Word of God on us and in us. We do this by staying consistent in reading and meditating on the Word of God. The scripture that says ” I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” means that you can be strengthened when you read your Bible and when you meditate on the scriptures. The Word of God is strength to your navel and health your bones.

Keeping the Word of God before you daily will keep you from walking, talking and acting like the World. It’s a daily process but very achievable. Keeping the Word of God before your eyes will help you to make right decisions and to stand in the midst of adversity. The world is on a major downhill slide and those that are not holding onto the Word of God will begin to grasp at anything. What will you do?

Stimulated Faith

Hebrews 11:6

King James Version (KJV)

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

I really love this verse in the Bible. Why? Because it tells us what pleases God. This verse also tells us what He will do for them that seek Him. As I think about this scripture I am reminded of the miracles I have witnessed and participated in. Some time ago I prayed for a woman who had a very bad headache. She told me that she had this headache for sometime since her driving accident. I asked her if she would like me to pray for her. She said yes and that she agreed. I asked her if she had faith to receive. She said yes and that she agreed. I asked her if she would agree with me about her healing to occur immediately. She said yes and I agree. I have a person who will stand with me and agree according to the Word of God. We took the scripture Matthew 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. We had agreement where the Word of God is concerned. We released our faith and she was healed the moment I commanded her body to come in line with the Word of God. God healed her body and she had no more pain!

Before all of this began I preached to her for about 4 minutes. I spoke about faith and agreement. I talked about God performing His Word. I talked about what pleases God and her faith was being stimulated. She became so excited, that her faith in God was about to be proven in her healing. She attached herself to the Word of God. She literally took Isaiah 53:5 like taking a pain pill. Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

God is still in the healing business! God’s Word still works for more than just reading. Reading His Word is not enough. Preaching His Word is not enough. Praying His Word is not enough. God intended His Word to get results always. He wants you to have faith in His Word and release His Word on the earth. I am not saying to not pray. I am saying you need to use God’s Word like it was meant to be used. It is not just a good book to read. It is a faith book packed with power, dominion, authority, love, joy, peace, hope…ETC. I don’t use God like a candy store. I have a relationship with Him. When you have a relationship with the Father you better understand His character and why He is pleased by your faith.

The world is looking for real, not fake. Show the world, God’s Word is not a phenomenon or some magic trick. God’s Word is YES and AMEN! Yes means God can do it and Amen means it’s finished. Get your faith stimulated through the Word of God and expect changes to take place!

1 Corinthians 9:19

King James Version (KJV)

19 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

As a Christian my number one desire is God’s heart beat. What is the heart beat of God? That all of man would be saved. We know this is true because He sent Jesus as a sacrificial lamb for the world. The Bible does not say for the Christian or the Jew. The Bible says for the world. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God does not want anyone to go to Hell! If He did He would not have sent His only Son.

Let’s look at Paul’s statement to the Corinthian Church… He is free from the world (all men). He is not bound to their traditions and religious ways. He is not set in their standards, but, he has made himself available to them. He made himself available to serve them at any capacity. He was not going to negate or compromise what the Word of God says, rather he was going to serve them that he might win them to Christ.

You don’t have to look like the world to address the world. You don’t have to have a problem to understand someone. You need to serve people without compromising the Word of God. Many years ago I thought I needed to dress like a gang member to minister to them. I used to think I had to hang out in the bar to minister to the drunks and alcoholics. I used to believe that I had to experience the same things in order to win them. All I did was compromise the Word of God in my life. I made the testimony of Christ to no avail.

I learned from that time. I learned that Jesus did not have to experience death to raise Lazarus. I learned that Jesus did not have to suffer with leprosy to make a leprous man whole. I learned that Jesus never compromised to win others. Like Jesus, Paul, John…ETC, we do not have to compromise to serve others. We just need to be a light in the dark.

So, if you want to gain people to Christ you need to make sure that you do not compromise the Word of God. Serve others the way that Christ served the Church. Serve others in-spite of being mistreated. Serve others without compromising the Word of God!
