Colossians 1:23

Amplified Bible (AMP)

23 [And this He will do] provided that you continue to [a]stay with and in the faith [in Christ], well-grounded and settled and steadfast, not shifting or moving away from the hope [which rests on and is inspired by] the glad tidings (the Gospel), which you heard and which has been preached [b][as being designed for and offered without restrictions] to every person under heaven, and of which [Gospel] I, Paul, became a minister.

As I think about today’s topic I am reminded of the need to stay in faith. Many believers get small victories and they get distracted. Their eyes and mind stay on the victory and they begin to get complacent and lazy. They feel as if they’ve won the entire war. The believer will start taking off his armor after the small victory. This is a grave mistake! Why? Because after a small victory the enemy is going to come even harder at you, and he is going to try to make your testimony of the small victory of no effect. See after you testify about how God has blessed you, the enemy will come and try to get your testimony. Why? Because he does not like to be defeated. He is a sore loser!

God never told us to take off our armor. God has instructed us to keep our armor on continually and He also wants us to keep standing. Why? So that you can get the big victory! Ephesians 6:13-18 King James Version (KJV) 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

So many times I watch people get the small victory only to get defeated and quit just before the big victory. What do I mean? There are people who need healing and as things start to change in their life they get excited and testify of God’s goodness. Then a month rolls by yet they are not completely healed. Five months roll by and you can see that the determination they had months ago is now dwindling. A month longer and they quit and they revert back to their old ways and lifestyle just to miss the blessing by a day or even a month.

Church it’s time to stop being lethargic or even complacent after you get a small victory. God wants you to get the big victory! He wants you to persevere and continue in faith. God wants you to keep your armor on! After your victory is when another attack will come. I can say this because I have experienced it and I have also observed others experience it as well. The devil wants to see how much you believe of what you’ve testified.

When you testify do you believe what you say. People will come up and say God is good, go through an attack, then ask God where are you? Speak words like “I don’t see you, I don’t hear you, are you there?” This is a sign of a person who does not wear their armor, does not pray continually, is irresolute and double-minded.

I encourage you to stay firm in the Word of God! Stand in faith! Believe what you testify! Never, never back down back down in the midst of a showdown. The devil wants to steal your testimony and your goods. Don’t give in or become lazy. Praise God for the small victories and stand until you receive the big victories.

2 Corinthians 2:14

King James Version (KJV)

14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

Have you ever just felt like you would not make it? Have you ever been in an impossible situation that there did not look like a way out? Has someone ever told you that you would not see a good outcome?

Some years ago my wife and I were hit right to the heart with our youngest son. He was in great pain in his leg. We took him to the emergency room and they ran all kinds of tests. Here we were struggling inside to find out what was wrong with our son and then accusations began to arise from the doctors and nurses. We were in the emergency room for 24 hours. Finally the doctors came back and said we can not find anything, they said they needed to run additional tests. Something was wrong. They took x-rays and did a knee tap. They tried to get an I.V. in him and they could not do it. Everything that they were trying to do was going wrong. Finally they did a radiation test on his bones and they found a major infection. The doctors came back to us and apologized for the accusations. They said one thing to us that brought fear and concern. The doctors told us that if they can’t fix the situation they would have to amputate his leg or he could even die.

What we could have done was to walk out the fear, talk out the fear, stand in the fear or we could walk by faith and not by sight. We could stand, pray, intercede and believe God’s Word that says He makes us always to triumph. We clearly had a choice in who we would believe. The doctors continued to try to get an I.V. in him but all failed. They told us that they needed to get antibiotics in his body but after 31 failed attempts the doctors chose to give up and try something different. I told the doctors that they would need to agree with us about healing in my son’s body. I would not let a doctor or nurse touch my son without me praying for them first. I told the doctors that I served a big God and that He heals. I told the devil that he was going to lose and that my God is bigger than any problem. During the problem the devil kept trying to talk to me about my son losing the battle. I kept telling him to get under my feet and shut up! Finally the devil shut up. Now I had to deal with the unbelieving doctors. Every doctor or nurse or assistant that came in I prayed for them and I encouraged them that my God was going to get us through this. 7 Days later we left the hospital and the doctors gave my son a clear bill of health. Some said it was God and some said it was a phenomena. I will tell you what it is… God made my family to triumph!

God always makes us to triumph if we will continue to stay in the battle. Don’t give up or give in! The battle is the Lord’s and He will help you always. The savor of God’s knowledge of healing got so deep down on the inside of me that I became bold and immovable. Choose today, that the enemy will not be able to make you movable. Choose to give the enemy no place. Choose to not listen to him. Choose to speak God’s Word and choose to only give place to God’s Word! Put God’s Word first instead of the enemies word.

Acts 16:25-30

King James Version (KJV)

25And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. 26And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed. 27And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. 28But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. 29Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, 30And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

When you examine this scripture you can see two men who were locked up in prison. They were not just locked up though… They were beaten first and then locked up. They had to have some pain and discomfort. However, Paul and Silas did not let their situation keep them from prayer and praising God.

When you are up against the wall and nowhere to turn, turn to prayer and praise. After all, what more could you do? Anyone can complain and cry out! Turn that crying into joy. Take the opportunity to pray and praise. When you do this there will be a light that you will see. People want to be around people who persevere. I don’t know about you, but, I don’t want to be around depressive people. Depressive people always pull you down. People that are in constant praise and worship always show the light. I want to be around people who demonstrate what light looks like.

Look further at this scripture… It says the guard (keeper) of the prison was awakened and saw the prison doors open and that he was going to kill himself. But Paul called out and said don’t hurt yourself we are all here. This next verse is what becomes powerful. The guard calls for a light! When you pray and praise God will shine His light on your situation. It will cause others to want to know how to be saved. It will cause others to ask what is different about you. It will cause others to view you differently. So let prayer and praise come out of your mouth! It will change people’s ideas about you. Choose to not talk about your problem. Choose to rejoice that your problem will be answered when you pray and praise. After all, prayer and praise unlocked the prison doors for Paul and Silas how much more will prayer and praise work for you.

Praise will bring the light!

2 Chronicles 7:14 (King James Version)

14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves #1, and pray #2, and seek my face #3, and turn from their wicked ways #4; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

So yesterday I stated that there is 4 parts to this scripture. Yesterday I was talking about the church and how they needed to humble themselves. Today I will talk with you about prayer.

This second part of the 4 conditional clauses is Pray. So when will the church finally come together and pray? I was at a local church in my community and we had electoral candidates present. We had come together to pray for our electoral candidates of the local Judicial, local Official, State Elections, Wisdom of our National Officials, Wisdom of our Local Officials, Fiscal Integrity/Responsibility, Safety of our Nation and Communities, Sovereignty of our Nation, Revival in Our Communities, Unity among American Citizens, Unity among the Christian Church, and Returning to Biblical Priniciples. We prayed for the wisdom of God! This was a powerful time!

The guest prayer people who were going to pray from the pulpit were escorted into the church and as we were walking into the church I noticed something. Something quite appalling! Something that has become part of the Church and America. The church had about 8 – 10 people present. I know this church can at least hold 200 people easily. It is sad to say that I have heard many Pastors say and I have said it too, when you call for the people to come and pray it tends to be the smallest gathering. We can have large gatherings when some special guest comes but when you say prayer, many people find other things to do. So where are all the people? Who really believes that prayer works? When the Pastor calls for prayer, there is few and far between people who are willing to come and pray. Where are the Christians that say they are prayer warriors? Where are the other 280+ Pastors of the local area? Where is God’s people? What is going on in America? Have we fallen away? Men and Women of Faith it’s time for you to stand up and pray!

We can not be weaklings and we can not continue to make excuses. We need to change our focus. Church I love you, but you need to rise up and take a stand. America is under great attack by the enemy (Satan). He is a terrible foe and we must rise up and take our place on the wall. I want all those that read this to understand that we are under spiritual attack. Our land is being taken away from us and we are just laying down and letting it happen. We need to rise up together and get away from all the indifferences in denominations and whose church is better than the others. We need to stand up and pray!

You might say I pray on the National Day of Prayer and on the Global Day of Prayer. Well, I am glad you do, but prayer is not about 1 day. Prayer is about everyday and all throughout the day. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing. If we are to move forward and to have God heal our land then we need to pray together.

Jesus said it best in Matthew 18:18-20 18Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.19Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.20For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Look the writing is in red. Red means that we win… When we follow His Words! If we were to have people agreeing together instead of fighting about which denomination is better than the other, then maybe we can have true fellowship. Maybe we can see God do great things! God never made up denominations they were brought on by man. Denominations is what has killed the agreeing Pastors and Churches. So who has developed this great problem today? Satan has used the Christian man to be against his own brother because of a prayer life or because of singing or even because someone would dare raise their hands. The church today is so divided because of denominations. Why did Satan create this great falling out? Satan knows that if many churches would come together in unity and pray together we would take back America and cause the Gospel to be more prevalent in the entire World.

I am not just trying to belittle denominations but I am wanting others to see what happens when we try to create our own ways and live out our lives with a fence between brothers and sisters in the Lord. Let’s take America back and start laying aside our doctrines and ideologies. Let’s take the Bible and do as it says. Pray! Pray! Pray! Deuteronomy 32:30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up? We need unity and prayer together and we will see our America prosperous again!

Be Blessed!
