James 2:8

Amplified Bible (AMP)

If indeed you [really] fulfill the royal Law in accordance with the Scripture, You shall love your neighbor as [you love] yourself, you do well.(A)

What is the Royal Law? The Royal Law is your Kingly prescribed duty of loving others regardless of what they say or do. You are to walk in love just like Jesus. You need to be willing to lay down your own rights to fulfill the Royal Law. You have a choice to let people see God the Father, who is love, working in you or you can let people see your bad attitude. Often we operate with good attitudes toward people and show love but when things get tough that is the moment we need to show love regardless of what we are going through.

I have said to many people, all I want to do is fulfill this Royal Law. I want to love people regardless of what they say to me or what they do unto me. My life is meant to fulfill the Love of God. I practice love daily in my own house. What do I mean about practicing love? Practicing love is choosing to love even when someone who is close to you makes a major mistake. Usually people are harder on their loved ones than on any other person.

Living a life of love to fulfill the Love of God is very exciting and it will draw others to you. This is what God did when He sent Jesus to the world. God was demonstrating His love for you and I that we would be drawn to Him. Loving your neighbor is not just the person who is next door but all you come in contact with. It’s easy to love someone when they act the way you want them to. However real love is when you love someone when they don’t act the way you want them to.

Real love is loving without the respect of persons. God does not care about color or design of people. He loves without respect of persons. God does not have favorites. So if the Heavenly Father does not have favorites we should love just like Him. It is possible to love like Him because Genesis 1:26 talks about us being created in His image and after His likeness. So this tells me that we can love like God and fulfill the Royal Law just like Jesus. Live to fulfill!

Be Blessed!
