Matthew 7:24 (King James Version)

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Are you expecting a break-through? Are you ready for the Lord to open the doors you need opened? Are you waiting with great anticipation to see what God will do? If you are, that is great. If you are not, then get yourself prepared. God is wanting to bless His people. God is looking for people who are hungry for His Word and expectant.

As I was running this afternoon the Lord put these three words into my heart for the Church. Rooted, Grounded, and Stable. God wants us to get ourselves rooted, grounded and stable on His Word. He doesn’t want us to speak contrary to His Word. We need to get ourselves so rooted, and grounded in the love of God, that nothing will be able to separate us from Him. When we are stable in God’s Word it means that we are ready no matter what comes our way. Why? Because our house is built upon the true Rock. This Rock is the Lord our God.

If you don’t sink your roots down deep, you will find yourself shifting and moving. Roots that are grounded in the love of God will not move no matter the situation. Keep speaking God’s Word and keep holding on to what Jesus said. Like the scripture says he who hears these sayings of Mine and does them will be like a wise man which built his house upon a rock.

When you finish this fast I would like you to consider something… Instead of going back to your old eating habits, ask God what He wants you to do. Why would I say this to you? I said this to you because for about 3 weeks you let go of your old ways of doing things. For about a month you have found yourself healthier than you have ever been before. You have rooted and grounded yourself and now you are becoming stable. It’s when we add back those old ways of doing things that we become unstable again.

Many people have felt closer to God than they have ever been before. Giving up food is not easy and no one is trying to tell you not to eat. I am saying, think about how much food means to you and how much God means to you. You didn’t do this fast just to lose weight. You didn’t do this so people can see you with a sad countenance. You did this to be more hungry for God and His Word. You did this to get closer to God.

Are you feeling more stable now? I know I am! I know I am ready and able to receive all my breakthrough’s. I know God has something for you and I know He has something for me. Let us make sure that as we get closer to the end of this fast that we continue to thank the Lord for all He is and all He will do in us. 2011 is a year to be Unified to touch Glory. Stay expectant, be rooted, get grounded in your Bible, and get yourself stable in the Word of God that nothing will be able to shake you. You are blessed and highly favored of the Lord!

1 Peter 1:15-16

“But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”

Fasting is a time to look at your words. It’s a time to examine and make sure that you are Conversing Holiness. We need to see how we are speaking and to evaluate what we are speaking. Many times we get ourselves into trouble because of the words we speak. Sure things are going to make you angry. Ephesians 4:26-27 26Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27Neither give place to the devil. It’s what we do with the anger and how it’s used.

I am not going to go any further with anger but I did want you to see this. Ephesians 4:22-24 22That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Paul is really ministering to the church of today. The world we live in is showing us how to live in lust and to carry corrupt communication.

We need our mouths and lives renewed daily. Watching what you say is not God’s responsibility. It is the responsibility of the believer. We need to converse with holiness. Speaking about others in a negative sense is not holiness! Speaking negatively about yourself is not holiness! Speaking contrary to God’s Word is not holiness! We need to be holy like the Lord.

As you are fasting these 21 days, I want you to start asking God to show you how you are speaking. I want you to ask God to help you to watch what you are saying. You can pray this way… Father help me to be quick to listen and slow to speak. Help me to see the words before I release them out of my mouth. Father I want to be holy as You are Holy. I want to curve my speech about others and myself. I want to love others even when they speak poorly. Help me to see where I fail in my conversations and help me to clean up my speech. Help me to converse holiness!

Jesus talked a lot about the mouth because He knew it was a way to bring curses and blessings upon our lives. We are called a rare and peculiar kind of people.

1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; We are set apart for the Lord. So be set apart for Him and watch your mouth!

Matthew 15:13

13But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.

Do you watch what you speak? Are you in the right place? Did God plant you somewhere, but you are still resisting? Does your plant have good fruit or are you a weedy bush that produces nasty stickers? Who are you? What do you look like?

The topic above is quite ironic. How can you have good plants and good weeds? You think you have good plants but if you were to look closely you might find that your good plants are really just good weeds. Weeds are not good! Look at your words! Your words are very powerful! They can produce good plants that are fruitful and become a blessing or your words can be like good weeds that keep everyone away. A good plant is a blessing and looks beautiful on the outside as well as the inside. The weed looks nasty on the outside and if you look closely you can see a matted nest on the inside. Think of tumbleweeds… They are a tumbling ball of mess. Our words can either be beautiful and cause blessings to occur or our words can be like a jumbled mess of weeds.

In the above scripture, I really like Jesus’ response to His disciples… Jesus responds to their question about how the Pharisees were offended at His saying. We see here that the Pharisees were offended because of their rituals and their traditions of man. They wanted the Disciples to wash their hands because of tradition. Jesus explains in the following scriptures that it is not about what you take into your mouth that defiles a man, rather it is what comes out of your mouth (Matthew 15:18) Your mouth and your heart work synonymously with each other. If your heart is full of weeds then you will produce nothing but weeds. If your heart is full of blessings then you will produce great plants that are full of fruit. Every plant that the Father does not plant will be uprooted. This is not an excuse to go and be a weedy person or to go and speak evil words. We must cleanup our words and start speaking with authority like Jesus.

If we are wanting to see the best from God then we need to start speaking God’s Word. We need to pray the Word of God and not just follow traditions. Traditions of man is just “Genetically Altered Religion.” We know the Pharisees were altered by their ideologies! So if you want to start being successful and blessed, then you need to start watching what you are speaking. If you produce out of self then the Father will uproot. If you produce out of God then it shall be rooted deep in good soil. Change your heart first and your words will be changed as well. Choose to love God first and your words will become words of love.

Psalm 98:4
Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

Let the earth rejoice and make a joyful noise. This scripture speaks to me that I am to make a loud noise and rejoice. There seems to be a lot of craziness in the world today. With all this craziness, we need to shout and make a loud noise and rejoice. Christmas is almost here and we are just 24 days away from celebrating Jesus Christ’s birth. You may feel as if you don’t have anything to rejoice over. I must say that you do have something to rejoice over. Jesus the Christ was born to give you and I new life and a life that is to be lived out through Praising, Thanksgiving, Rejoicing, and Blessing the Father. We can’t sit back any longer. We as Christians need to stand up and rejoice. We need to shake off those heavy bands and lift up holy hands and praise His wonderful name.

A couple of years after I gave my life to the Lord I had experienced some really tough times. I felt like I was a loser and that nobody really cared about me. I was having a pity party! My job was terrible and the man I worked for hated me. I was about to get married and I was struggling inside. I felt as if I was going to freak out! I could not find myself rejoicing about anything. Here I am on the praise and worship team and I can’t find myself rejoicing and praising God. I felt ashamed of myself! I was a leader and I really felt like I had no clue in what to do. I felt all alone and that I was the only one who has ever gone through something like this. I was finding myself depressed and wondering what God wanted to do with me. I was talking to God but every time I did it seemed to no avail. I felt as if God moved away. This depression lasted a long time. I was only married for two and half months when I got hurt on the job. Here I am now on workman’s comp. My pay got cut to 1/3 the normal salary I brought home and here I was only married for a short time. How was I going to pay the bills and how were we going to make it. The thoughts that were going through my mind was that God had abandoned me.

My Dad and Mom and Father-in-law and Mother-in-law began to speak encouraging words to me and my Father-in-law would not leave me alone. He kept telling me I just needed to speak the word and rejoice in the Lord. I really did not want to hear that because a pity party seemed better. The enemy was having a hay day with me and eating my lunch so to say. My Father-in-law kept telling me to rejoice. He kept telling me the same thing over and over again. I thought he had gone mad. In fact I remember sitting in his car and he told me to have a laugh with him. I thought this man is crazy and he was supposed to be my father-in-law. What kind of family did I marry into! My wifes dad was nuts! I resisted for a couple of minutes and he was belting out the laughter so loud and it sounded so funny, that the next thing I knew I was making a loud noise, I was laughing really hard and out of control. Imagine with me you driving down the road and these two men are laughing in the car next to you. You would have thought these guys have surely lost there minds. With all this going on my father-in-law said laugh at the devil and rejoice in the Lord. The only way to get through this hard time was to laugh at the devil and rejoice in the Lord. My father-in-law was inspiring me and uplifting me. He began to show me that I had a lot to be thankful for and that the devil was not my god. My God is worthy to be praised. My father-in-law has been more than just a dad but he has been a spiritual father. Someone who takes another under his wing and shares with them and encourages them and disciplines them.

Some months after I had that rejoicing session with my father-in-law. I found myself with a new job, making 5 times the amount a week then I had with the previous job. My boss was great to work for and I was very happy. My boss was not my manager! My true boss was God. I had more time with my lovely wife and I was a contributing factor to my families household needs.

Praise can do a lot for a person! So when you feel down and out. Pick your head up and look to the sky and begin to make a loud noise unto the Lord. Bless His wonderful name! Praise Him when it feels rough and praise Him when it is well. God did not forget where you live or where you are at. God loves you and He cares about you! God does not get joy out of your hurt. Turn all your mourning into joy and begin to laugh out loud today! Hey! Remember this, the devil gets joy out of you hurting, so do some damage to his kingdom by rejoicing in the Lord!

Isaiah 43:18-19 (King James Version)

18Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

19Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

God wants His people to move forward. Too many times the believer finds themselves going back to their old past. God does not want you to go there. The devil on the other hand wants you to walk in your old past. Believers you have been given the greatest opportunity to start over. Many people start over but find themselves back in the past. Like that old movie Back to the Future. We should not go backwards but forwards. We learned from that movie that these two men were trying to change their future by going back to the past. We as Christians cannot change our future by going back to our past. We change our future by pressing on and reaching forward.

In this scripture God is telling us not to remember the former things. Why? Because when we go backwards there tends to be lot’s of hurts and disappointments. God does not want His people to be discouraged but He wants us to be encouraged. God says in His Word that He will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth. So, when are we going to start seeing new things. In this scripture we need to look at the word NOW.

The word now is defined as, at the present time or moment. God wants to bless us now. He does not want us to dwell in the past or dream about the past. God wants to do something great now. The fact of the matter is that we tend to focus on the past instead of the here and now. When we focus on the current circumstances we tend to be negative. Change your mindset and decide to be positive. Change your speech and start speaking God’s Word.

If you have had a prophetic word spoken over you and you have not reminded yourself of that word, then go back and look for that prophetic word. God was speaking to you about what you are supposed to have now. What will you do with what God has given to you? Are you a blessed person? Do you know, God loves you so much that He does not want you to not remember your old past or your old ways? Do you know God loves you so much that He wants to do a new thing in you? Are you paying attention to your past or are you paying attention to the Word of God?

Sometimes I have to ask God for help, so that I will not dwell on my past. God wants to do great things in me and my church. God wants my ministry to prosper and be full of love. So when I start to feel down or look back to my old past,  I have to say, “No, devil, I will not dwell there!” God has forgiven me of my past and He is blessing me now at this present moment. Glory to God, Jesus is still alive. God’s not dead, He’s still alive and He is watching over me. You are a blessing to the Lord and He loves you. Walk in the present and be blessed. You’re not dead so act alive and be alive in Christ.
