Isaiah 58:6

6[Rather] is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every [enslaving] yoke?(B)

So you have been fasting since the beginning of the New Year… What has God spoken to you? What is different about you already? Fasting is done to get closer to God, hear more clearly, be loosed of the bondages of wickedness, let the oppressed go free, and breaking every enslaving yoke. Fasting is a time to rid yourself of toxins. I am not speaking about natural but spiritual toxins. Fasting does help get rid of the physical toxins as well. We fill our lives with so many spiritual toxins that we become a slave of these things. All year long we tend to add more and more junk. Well it’s time to stop being a spiritual hoarder and let go of things that bind you.The only way we can do this is by reading our Bible and Praying more.

During a fast it’s not about how long you can last without food and how much weight you can drop. It is a personal time with the Lord and finding yourself hungry for Him and His Word. During a fast you could find yourself more emotional and asking for forgiveness to all kinds of people. I believe the Lord shows us these things because these are the things that hold us back from going further into His Glory. During a fast I find myself more emotional when I read and pray. I don’t necessarily understand it, but, I do believe it is because I feel the tender heart of God.

During a fast I usually read a specific book and I use it as a personal devotion. I am currently reading a book called “The Power of a Praying Life.” Stormie Omartian is the Author of this book. I am currently on the 5th chapter and I have been quite encouraged. In this chapter she is talking about taking God at His Word. When we fast and pray we really need to make sure that we are taking God at His Word. When I am fasting God’s Word really comes alive in my spirit. Even though I have read the entire Bible, I find myself encouraged greatly. God shows me new things! Sometimes it’s even a scripture I might know really well and He will show me new things about it.

During this fast I am finding myself at a great hunger. My anticipation of His Word is very high and I am expectant to see Him at work in myself and you all. I know this year that God is going to do something great. I am believing for true demonstration and power. I am believing for more people to come to Christ. I am believing God to cause my extended family members to come to Christ. I am believing that our churches will be filled with many new believers and I am believing for God’s Glory to be shown about. I am believing for the Church to rise up and take a stand this year. I am believing for the impossible things that the world says cannot happen. I am fasting and praying for a true revival in the Church. I don’t want last years anointing and wine. I am preparing my life to receive a new anointing and new wine. (I am not talking about wine you drink.) I believe God’s Word and I am getting myself prepared to receive a blessing. Are you ready for a blessing? Are you anticipating the move of God? Are you reading your Word and praying and seeking God’s Face and turning from wickedness?

I am ready for the Church to wake up and be baptized in Holy Ghost and Fire! Come Lord Jesus Come!

Blessings,
